“Great Hotel !!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 February 2012

We recently stayed for four nights beginning of Feb at Explorers hotel. Cannot fault it really!
We are a family of five and the rooms were of a decent size and clean.
The swimming pool is great kids really enjoyed it, stays open till 10.30pm, so you can make the most of the parks.
Breakfast is nice, standard continental stuff. Something for everyone.
Happy hour 7-8 is well worth it, as alcohol is expensive at all places in Paris. We took our own kids drinks with us.. and used them at night, so that saved us a lot, and no-one said anything.
I would definatley stay here again and recommend it!

“A great place to stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 February 2012

We stayed here for Christmas 2011 with our three kids aged 12, 9 and 4 and it was everything we had hoped it would be.
We were limited where we could stay as there are five of us, but we loved the fact that the kids had their own room with TV. We took a mattress off one of the beds in the main room and put it in with the bunk beds so that they were all in together.
We all loved the breakfast in the mornings and the fact that you could have as much as you wanted-the pushing and shoving that has been mentioned was something that we noticed everywhere, including the parks. We put it down to our polite British manners and soon got used to giving as good as we got and even resorted to refusing to move for late-comers to the parades!!
We had an all-you-can-eat dinner at the hotel on our last night and wished we had gone there sooner as it was such good value for money compared to the parks and Disney Village. There were oysters, king prawns, a number of mains and loads of puddings. The bar was expensive but no more so than anywhere else we went to and they had a 2-for-1 happy hour every night.
We used the pool on Christmas Day and were the only ones in it! It didn't bother us about having to pay for the towels as I wasn't prepared to pack five bulky towels from home. We had been aware of this before we left home but have to say we noticed room towels had been put in amongst the wet ones when we left the pool-why didn't we think of that?!
The shuttle buses were packed at times but only when you would expect them to be e.g at the end of a parade. It was never really a problem for us as they were so frequent. I don't think we ever waited more than five minutes for the next one.
The only gripe I would have is the noise coming from the disco area in the evenings. Our room overlooked it and the kids found it so hard to get off to sleep as it went on until midnight most nights but I suppose it was Christmas! I would ask for an outside room if we ever stayed there again. We also would have found the lack of UHT milk in our room a problem had I not packed sachets from home. There was only powdered milk available to have in your tea or coffee.
We would have found it too suffocating to have stayed in a Disney hotel as well as spending all day every day in the Disney parks so The Explorer's was ideal for us.

Room Tip: Outside rooms are quieter

“great family hotel”

This was my second stay at the explorers although separated by 8 years I can honestly recommend this this hotel to any body with a young family there is a fantastic swimming pool which my eldest child who is 8 absolutely loved there is a strong pirate theme with water chutes and pirate ship although strangely no life guard.
there was also kids massive ball pit area and pirate ship which my all three of my children loved
room was very clean excellent and helpful staff who speak English and French room has a kettle and limited supply of tea and coffee you might want to bring a few extra sachets of tea and coffee.
free bus shuttle service to the Disney parks runs about one every 20 minutes.
there was also a great breakfast all you can eat make sure you fill up because even the most basic food at the parks will cost a fortune.
all in all well worth a stay at this hotel.

My family came here for my parents wedding present. When we arrived at the hotel it was lovely and felt like home. We went to the park as soon as possible and a shuttle bus picked us up, the shuttle buses are very handy as they pick you up and take you to the park. There was a kiddie disco from 8 to 9 and then at 9:30 they did some dancing and singing. There was also a happy hour which was buy any drink and get the other free. There was a pirate ship for the kids and the people there made sure the children didn't climb so you could just sit back and drink and eat the pool was great. It was open 8 am till 10pm it was do good. There were 3 places for food. A really expensive one a normal priced one and a pizza place which I defiantly reccommend the pizza. Over all I would give this hotel a 4 even though it is a 3

“Great for kids”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 February 2012

We spent 3 nights at this hotel on our recent trip to Disneyland. It was mostly clean although the bedding is questionable..blood and strange maks on the double bed!! You get only 2 tea bags and 2 coffees and a couple of sugars in your room but if you ask at reception they happily give you more. The room is basic but fine, we had a room with a double and 2 singles then a seperate cabin with bunk beds. The swimming pool is fantastic for the kids as was the soft play and they were open late so after a day at Disney we came in went swimming for an hour or so, showered the kids as they got out, put on there pj's, let them play in the soft play while dressed for bed which they thought was brilliant then by 8pm they were so shattered they went flat out and slept better than they ever have before. The main downside was that the only shop was a disney shop...there is enogh of that at disneyland!! they should have a shop to buy shampoo and conditioner or snacks and magazines like most hotels or holiday resorts have!! Other than that it was great and we bought all that stuff at the train station shop outside disney.
