Located "in the middle of nowhere" outside Orelans city centre (wholesale shops and warehouse area), this is a cheap 1-star hotel/ motel with compact and clean rooms. Ship cabin style compact shower/ toilet room but with good water pressure and lots of hot water. Simple continental breakfast at Euro 6, alternatively McDonalds 5 mins' walk from hotel.
Plus points:
- tram stop is 2-3 mins walk away and makes access to Orleans city centre very convenient and pleasant. About 15mins' ride to town (the Zenith is 2 stops away). Useful to get a 1-day travel pass at Euro 3.50. Trams run till past midnight w/e, maybe even later weekdays.
- clean and well-maintained
- cheap
- no single supplement
- friendly staff
Negative points:
- thin walls so that talk/ noise from neighbouring rooms was noticeable
- 1 small window facing publicly accessed balcony means that the room either feels claustrophobic with the blind drawn or that there's less privacy. Not a huge issue as you would probably not be spending much time in the room i.e. only sleeping there
- reception has limited opening hours. However, there is a machine for out-of-hours check-in (not sure how easy to use).
