This is a great little quirky hotel perfect if you need a stop over point and do not want to have to navigate Dijon in a car after 9 hours of driving.
IIt was super easy to find right on the main drag out of town. It was quiet with double double glazing to keep out the street noise. The bed was amazingly comfortable.
The bathroom was clean and modern. The staff was friendly and helpful and with our little bit of French and their great English communication was no problem.
There is a mini mall literally 3 minutes walk away with a pharmacy, boulangerie (open at 7:30), good sized super market and hardware store which is fantastic if you are driving and need to stock up on anything. There is also a boulangerie about 5 minutes walk if you turn right out of the back exit and go up to Chenove village. It is open at 6:30.
It has a wonderful character. Escargotiere meaning the Snailery. And their totem was displayed all over the hotel.
We did not eat at the hotel but had drinks in the reception bar area and they were the same price as anywhere else in France (stupidly expensive). The menu looked ok. Basic stuff. 15 for two courses or 20 for three.
There are two or three basic restaurants in the immediate vicinty including a Buffalo Grill and a Chinese place. We opted for the Chinese and would not recommend it.
Based on previous comments it seems apparent that the place has been recently updated and we had no complaints about cleanliness, service, or environment.
It is exactly what you would expect for 70 a night.
This is not the hotel for you if you are there to see Dijon. It is out of town and not within walking distance though the bus links appeared good. It is not in an attractive area being unfortunately situated in a strip mall industrial section. It has obviously been there for decades and the development has build up around it. There is very little around it in the way of amenities other than what has already been mentioned.
