This house is exceptionally well fitted and decorated. It has the feel of a country estate that has been carefully designed to be relaxing and refined. Andrew Carey and his wife, Helen, have done a wonderful job of bringing this 1797 house into the 21st century without losing any of its charm.
There is ample parking for guests at the side of the house. The guest lounge had a fire burning each evening and was a congregating center for guests. We enjoyed our evenings there just sitting and talking. Several guests had been repeat visitors for years.
Our bedroom was also tastefully decorated and uncluttered. Everything was spotlessly clean and the room had everything we needed.
We enjoyed every minute of our visit and highly recommend it for others to consider.

Had a delightful three night break here with my wife and father ...our first visit and very impressed! Breakfasts are excellent , all the rooms are very spacious and well decorated and at reasonable rates especially for singles occupying a double room ,
The Guest house is a listed building with some lovely features in a quiet village , but only minutes from the heart of Keswick and Derwentwater ...more than ample car parking off the road and a nice pub within walking distance serving evening meals....what else do you need in the Lake District ?

Powe House, what can I say - it was a brilliant three night stay, our only regret is that we did not stay longer but moved to Ambleside.

The rooms were very clean, spacious and modern. The owners could not have been more helpful. The breakfast was exceptional, with a great choice of high quality local food.

I would recommend the hearty packed lunch that the owners will provide for a small additional fee, it's not for the feint hearted.

Would certainly stay there again.
