An ideal base for discovering Dorchester and the Thames Path. Our host Mary could not have been more helpful with tourist advice and she was delightful company all evening. The meal in the adjoining chinese restaurant was excellent, an enjoyable stay in a lovely country pub.

Prettier in the photos than real life but this is a cosy Pub / B&B / Chinese Restaurant. Easy enough to find it is 200 metres to the River Thames and made a perfect location for Thames Path walking being 13+ miles downstream to Goring and the same upstream to Oxford.
We had Room 3 which was large with its own seating/tv area along with a large bathroom, which had both bath and separate shower. Extremely comfortable 4 poster bed. Breakfast wasn't excessively large but was cooked to order, was good and tasty. The restaurant is a standard Chinese with generous portions. We'd recommend to friends and family to this little gem of a place.

I cannot recommend this place enough - We went on the off chance to the restaurant on a Saturday evening.

Simply put, the hosts are fantastic fun, the chinese food is the best in I've tasted outside Hong Kong, amazingly fresh - The prawn toasts were huge, stacked with prawns, the satays fresh breast meat, again really fresh, singapore noodles fantastic. All of it, brilliant.

We've eaten in twice, and one take away - Can't fault it.

If you want a quirky evening, in an olde worlde pub with a small intimate restaurant in the countryside, and you love quality chinese foo, then go here.

This was our first stay at the Plough, we normally stay in Dorchester but the hotels there are now pricing themselves out our marketplace. This hotel is equal to any we have stayed in before in beautiful southern Oxfordshire. The Chinese restaurant was excellent as was the service.
Would definitely recommend this hotel and will visit again in the future.
