This motel is the only motel on road from stanwell tops to outskirts of Wollongong. No money has been spent on maintaining property, rooms are dirty, carpet lifting, filthy, bed shocking, Paid $115 for double room - worth $70 at best. Staff helpful enough and location good (if on main road), but still not worth staying here.

This is a fairly old, run down motel on the main road in Thirroull, and is noisy particularly if you are not lucky enough to have a room at the back of the place.Beware also,as only a few rooms have air conditioning, but still beware if yours is one of them. Two rooms away my friends did have an A/C unit, but no remote control. My mate next door also had A/C AND a remote control, but the batteries had gone flat. I had a/c and a working remote control- of sorts, but for some reason the temperature didn't keep cool so when I went to adjust it, I couldn't see as the lights didn't work!. I couldn't get extra pillows as the staff had left for the night. It should have been priced right down at the botom end of the market- it wasn't and there is far better accommodation in Wollongong for about the same price.

After reading awful reviews we were a bit worried but didnt have any choice as we needed to stay in the location & didnt have time to look around.

Walking distance to shops, large rooms, good shower, comfy bed, have stayed in a lot worse so no major complaints, it is what it is.

For us this was a room to just sleep in & was adequate & fulfilled our needs, the reception staff were friendly & helpful.

Probably not where you would want to spend a holiday but I would stay again if I had to.

Being desperate to find somewhere close to Coledale and thiroul beach at the last minute we booked 3 rooms for my family and bridal party.
I told our guests not to expect much because of the reviews i read and i didnt want them to be disapointed... On arrival things seemed ok!
The rooms looked clean but the was mould in the cupboards and the bathrooms.
One of the rooms we had smelt really bad, like it was damp... There were no screens on the windows and 1 of the screen doors would not shut....that happened to be the one my 11 month old son fell through and almost jammed his finger! I do not recomend this place for babies....not safe!!!!
Not caring about all that stuff to much we let it go cause it was the weekend of our wedding and we didnt want anything to spoil it... However as the day went on we discovered the staff were quite rude at times... The cleaner was a lovely lady but the management were extremely rude at times.
Aswell as that, when we left the rooms, we told the cleaner, whom we got along real well with that we kept the rooms very clean and all that was left was the sheets and towels to be changed! She was very happy with that however we were called 2 days later to tell us that they had charged our credit card the day before because the rooms were not clean?? We asked why this was the case as the cleaner was more then pleased with the room, she went on saying she did not wish to discuss it and hung up on us!!! To cut the story down, we tried for 3 weeks after we stayed there to get our money back that they charged to our credit card, Because they had no reason to do so and no permission.... still to this day we are still trying to get our money back that they claim has been refunded.What we dont get is why they charged our credit card when we paid cash and were not given a reason to why we were charged in the first place. It wouldf interest me to know how many more people have been ripped of this way....
If you stay there i advise you to check your credit card statements!UNBELIEVEABLE!!!
