7 of us stayed for 4 nights at Hotel Edelweiss over the Christmas period in 2011 for a ski holiday. The hotel recently had a change of ownership and the new owners, Grégoire and Tiphanie were very warm and helpful, tending to our needs with a high level of patience. One of our friends hurt her knee skiing and had to stay in on most days. The hotel prepared lunch specially for her and helped us arrange for transportation to get around Serre Che.
Hotel is conveniently located. It's a 10-15 minutes walk from the Briancon Prorel ski lift. If you are skiing at the more popular Chantemerle area, it's a 8-10 minutes walk to the ski bus stop which will take you to Chantemerle ski lift in another 10. The old town and Carrefour is another 10-15 minutes away away.
The rooms are clean and purpose built. Some of us got a room with better shower facilities but I assume this will be gradually standardised across all the rooms. Breakfast is baguette and warm croissants with coffee/tea. All in all, the rates charged at this hotel is very reasonable and offers good value for money for the quality of service.
