I found this place on the internet a few weeks before I left for france. I stayed here for a week or so on my own while looking for somewhere to stay more permanently in Serre Che. The manageress made me feel very welcome when I was a bit homesick and I felt well looked after. I was offered a slightly discounted rate due to the length and nature of my stay (solo and I was going to be working in a primary school there).The bed was comfy, internet access was available and the landlady gave me a choice of rooms to take my pick from. I had views of the mountains and garden below. The hotel is located on the main road through Briancon up to the old town, this is very steep and walking up to the hotel from the town is quite a hike for city folk. You soon get used to this though and there is a bus service that runs quite frequently. The hotel really helped set me up for my stay in Briancon, they gave me lots of helpful advice when my computer broke down and were very friendly and welcoming. They kick started a brilliant year in the alps and for that I am very grateful, I owe a lot of settling in so fast to them. Great place, right in the town centre, highly recommend.

Charming hotel with clean simple, decor. The beds were average, you know what to expect with the pictures. The main issue is it felt clean and large enough. The bathroom white and clean. Bertram at reception was helpful. Awesome croissants with great coffee for breakfast. would definately return.

The photos to advertise did not at all reflect the hotel on arrival. It was depressing. No lift for upper floor rooms, the bathroom shower was broken, the curtains were a filthy grey (originally white, once upon a time). The advertised internet was not working. There was only one light in the room, so much for a little reading before bed. The floor boards didn't fit the wall, the plug didn't fit the bathtub. All in all a very unpleasant experience. In Briancon itself there was next to nothing open to eat on a Monday night and the hotel was unable to advise on places to go for food.
Don't go unless you are desperate.

Friendly and helpful hosts, clean rooms, good food. Location is perfect for Briancon. Highly recommend this hotel. Hosts speak a little English.
