We stayed at The Gatehouse for two nights, which wasn't really long enough! Plus points: friendly, welcoming, luxurious, relaxing, great atmosphere. Negatives: none that would be anything other than incredibly picky, except that it is not central Wellington (a good thing...?). Lots of little touches that made staying here so much better than an hotel. Examples: fire burning when we arrived, flowers, great selection of drinks, tasty cookies, washing done whilst we were out, top chit-chat from owner (Lisa), and yummy breakfast. Best summarised by my wife: like turning up at a honeymoon hotel, but better. Cannot recommend highly enough.

This is an incredible B&B, very private, self-contained, quaint, beautifully appointed and located in a leafy quiet neighborhood. There is nothing left wanting. – comfortable and attractive furniture, spotless kitchen, fully stocked fridge (no extra charge), huge bedroom on second floor with extra comfortable bed. You can even choose the CDs you want from an extensive list. But the best of all is the host, Lisa, who is delightful, helpful and a magnificent cook. The breakfasts were fabulous and the baking too tempting. Definitely a highlight of our vacation.

We had a fantastic stay here!The accommodation is superb - big comfy sofas, TV, DVD and movies etc, the contemporary decor is restful and better still, The Gatehouse takes one couple at a time. We had the best sleep here than anywhere else we stayed, and Rob now needs to lose weight after the delicious baking Lisa provided! She is such a warm, smiley host who makes her guests feel very welcome. We would definitely recommend The Gatehouse to anyone visiting Wellington in the future.
