I absolutely loved my stay at Fern Paradise. I was travelling on my own and the Fern Paradise family made me feel very welcome. The place is amazing, very serene, gorgeous rooms, lovely surroundings. We loved it! The fern paradise is a small family owned property. If you are seeking a modern hotel chain with all the amenities then this is not the place for you. Those with an adventurous spirit will love it! We stayed at the Fern Paradise from October 9 - 11th. We were greeted at the airport by our taxi driver provided by the Fern Paradise. Upon arrival we were greeted by the manager and offered a cool refreshing drink of lemon grass tea. The room was just what we expected. They were very clean and comfortable. The surroundings were peaceful and quiet it was hard to believe we were just minutes from downtown. The breakfast was exceptional and staff very accommodating. They arranged transportation for us and our driver was named Mr. Puu. He was amazing! He dropped us off where we wanted to go and when we were ready to return we called his mobile phone and he was there within 15 minutes. I highly recommend the adventure package as well. This is an all day excursion starting with an elephant ride, a jungle trek to a beautiful waterfall and ending with some white water rafting. Don't miss the weekend market or the night bazaar as well. Over all we had a wonderful time and will definitely be returning to the Fern Paradise!

My husband and I stayed here for 6 nights in October 2010 as part of our honeymoon and it was our favourite hotel in Thailand... even when up against the Shangri La in Bangkok! The thing we loved most about Fern Paradise was the feeling of the place, treetop paradise only 20 minutes from a busy city. Best of both worlds! It was a great place to relax, frogs and insects chirping at night and squirrels eating coconuts in the trees! The food was amazing. Breakfast was fab and served to us in our on terrace under our treehouse every morning. We also had lunch one day and had supper a few nights and it was all amazing. Om helped us book a great cooking school excursion too. The pool was lovely - not heated but a great place to cool down and relax. Yes it is a little far out of the city, at night just 20 minutes in a taxi but at peak times up to 40 minutes... this did worry us initially but in the end it was just sooooo worth it to experience Fern Paradise. They have a taxi driver Mr Pu that you can call whenever your in town and he will come get you, it is a fixed rate service. Air conditoning could've been better, but we were never too hot but could've been cooler. I think some of the poor reviews come from people who just expect way too much, this is a simple place it is not complete luxury but it IS PARADISE!

We received a rude reception from the woman who manages this hotel. We hired a driver and van for our holiday. When we arrived, the rude woman who runs this hotel refused to allow our driver to stay on the hotel property. All other hotels thank the driver for bringing paying customers and allow him to park on the property and provide a restroom and shower.
The bathroom in our superior room smelled like urine and had black mold growing in the shower (please see photo). Also the wall of the shower stall was an old window. I don't know what the building codes call for in Thailand, but window glass in the shower is not safe. Shower enclosures should be made of tempered glass.
On the third night, we were treated to the sound of a car alarm going off constantly.
