“An excellent find - made our Doolin stay perfect”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 August 2010

We chanced upon this B&B - it's about the last one on the road to the Aran Island ferries from Doolin. We cosidered it a key Find of our trip.
The owners treated us like cousins, and we had a great chat with them one evening. We enjoyed the huge and sunny living room and conservatory available for guests' use, and also enjoyed the location that was away fromt he commercial bustle of Lisdenvarna) and yet allowed short walk to local Doolin pubs (trad irish music) and local shops. Just a picturesque stroll (or short drive) to Aran Island Ferries, where we took the Inisheer Island trip that came back beneatht he Cliffs of Moher, and can highly recommend that). When I subsequwntly discovered I had left behind my rain jacket, Rita (owner of the B&B) kindly posted it to my cousin in Dublin - definitely a host to remember.
If I was returning tho the area, I'd defintiely tsay there again, but I'd book first (they have a webiste) , as they have only about 5 guest rooms.

“Treated just like family”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 July 2010

Rita and Patrick's place is just up the street from O'Conner's Pub, you can walk downtown (which is a small town in Doolin). It is quiet and very comfortable. I had my 83 year old mother with me and we were treated just like family. They wouldn't let us take our luggage to the room (they got it there for us), they made us tea when we arrived and told us to relax. Breakfast was amazing. I love how they serve it HOT. (also choices of cereal, etc. if you wanted) The family is very personable and friendly but our privacy was always preserved. The bus stop is just down the road and they were helpful in letting us know what the schedule was (also of the ferries to the Aran Islands and the Cliff of Moher sights). We made a return trip to Doolin to stay at the Pairc Lodge knowing it was so good, before we headed for Shannon the next day to fly back to the states.

“Lovely Place and People”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 July 2010

A group of 6 of us were traveling in Western Ireland and decided to stay in Doolin due to it's great access to the area both by ground and ferry. Ended up at the Pairc Lodge B&B, where we were kindly received by Rita, the hostess.
The place is conveniently located near some popular pubs, and at a short walk to the ferry, yet well isolated from noise and traffic. The house is spacious, clean an airy, well lit, key in rainy weather. The furniture and decoration are lovely and cozy yet very classy and uncluttered. The living and reading rooms are quite nice and we spend quite a few hours having fun there. We used 3 rooms total and all of them were large, neat, well furnished, clean and equipped. The beds are comfortable, large and nicely equipped with large fluffy pillows and comforters. The owners living space is well separated from the guests and there is a lovely, large and modern kitchen in between, where a wonderful breakfast is prepared. Rita actually went to the market and got salmon for us after discovering we liked it with our eggs in the morning.

Every time we needed anything, the Rita or Pat were ready to hep, and this included wine glasses one evening, antiseptic cream for blisters I got hiking in The Burren, information on places to go or things to do. We extended our stay two times and there was absolutely no fuss or trouble about fickleness.

So I would recommend this place to anyone as a great place to relax an have a good time.
They take only cash, a wise thing nowadays. We found our shower drain upstairs was a bit slow, and a window handle was a bit lose, but anything out of place was quickly fixed.

I read with dismay a previously posted slightly critical comment. We found no evidence of scantily clad Easter European ladies in the place. Rita's helper, a Eastern European girl, was properly dresses at all times. The family dog was mostly in the backyard and bothered no one. What one person considers "nudity", another thinks is Summer attire, get a life! If a person want an impersonal, steril experience, interacting with no one, go to a large hotel and stay away from B&Bs.

“It was a great comfort to stay at Pairc Lodge”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 May 2010

After a week Connemara adventures we decided to explore the Burren. Late in the evening we arrived in Doolin, looking for some accommodation for our last 2 nights in Ireland. Pairc Lodge was 'the place to be'.
Ideal location for pub and restaurant facilities in Doolin. Wonderful sunset views in the harbour (not far from the B&B). Great walk possibilities to different attractions (Cliffs of Moher about 1,5 hour walking). Perfect starting point for our Burren trips.
The B&B was great and we felt at home. Clean rooms, excellent breakfast.
Rita and Pat were very kind and very helpful. We enormously appriciate Pat's activities in helping us by pointing out the different bookings of our travel back home (due to the vulcanic eruption we could not fly back home). Due to this help we could enjoy our extended stay in Ireland.
Next time we will be in Ireland, and for sure Doolin and Pairc Lodge will be on our menu !
