just returned from a weekend staying in the castle view farm house in doolin.
the farmhouse is very lovely with views looking out to endless countryside , sea and cows !
the rooms are very clean and comfortable.
the farmhouse is situated about 5 mins walk down hill to o 'connors pub and a further 10-15 mins to the other 2 pubs.
getting back at night is a little scary as there are no street lights whatsoever and its an uphill walk.
doolin is a lovey little town.. not as traditional as people make out though as its full of tourists ( lots of rowdy americans!) and although the music is fun to listen to and watch it is geared towards the tourists and is a bit of a 'set up ' rather than the spontaneous acts of music it tries to make out !
we went horse trekking and a cruise to the cliffs. both worth doing although the sea was very choppy on the cruise.
anyway back to the farm house.
the breaksfast was served in a gorgeous room with stunning views.
the breaksfast was nicely presented but the full irish breakfast wasnt very big, could have done with some mushrooms, beans, and more than a quarter of a tomato!
the sausages were the cheap ones..
nice tea/coffee though!
overall i would recommend the castle view farm house and doolin.
the hostess sally was very friendly and helpful.
