“Post Christmas Break”

We arrived on a Friday (20th Jan 2012) night at around 8:30 and were warmly greeted by the staff and given our room. The hotel wasn’t very busy so we headed for a local pub where there was music and food. On Saturday night we were pleasantly surprised to enter the bar and the was a ballad session going on with a load of Americans in. The musicians play for drink only which we obliged. Overall a brilliant hotel with the very best of service and they are no miserable with the heat either.
The only fault I could find with the hotel was that they have a plaque in the lobby to the corner boy that opened it, former Taoiseach Bertie Ahern. While this incompetent was opening hotels and pubs he was selling my country down the tubes. Take that plaque down and I’ll be back in June/July, otherwise I would not buy a drink in it.

Room Tip: they are all good

We came to this nice hotel, without any reservations. The front desk attendant served us with extreme courtesy, made sure that we were able to get a room that was to our liking and made sure that we knew of a few places to enjoy an evening drink and a great meal. We did end up eating at the attached restaurant enjoying the local music and fantastic food.
We would highly recommend this as a place to stay. Also, the small village has some wonderful shops with great deals to be had.

Room Tip: Inside rooms look out at the courtyard. Outside rooms might have some street noise.

“Go to Doolin ... Just to stay here”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 January 2012

I stayed here in December as it came highly recommended by my sister and it prompted a spontaneous visit to Dolan one Friday right after work.

It was a cold and rainy night and it was great to get a warm welcome from the hotel’s staff.

The room was much better than I had expected. It was very modern and very comfortable.

When we got back to the hotel after a night in the local pub we were asked did we want drinks and the man behind the small bar was very nice & friendly.

Breakfast in the morning was a feast and again the staff were brilliant. The waitress was a pro. She offered vegetarian options to two at the table and the Chef must have been a magician because what came out was amazing, tasty and just what we needed!

Special mention to the manager Marian Murnane who is amazing at her job. My parents and family are always advising people to go and stay in The Hotel Doolin or their sister hotel in Spanish Point. Infact even in the past week, my brother-in-law went there with his girlfriend and they were not disappointed.

Stay There! You will love it.
The breakfast alone is worth the price of the stay, which by the way is very reasonable!

Had a fab time at this hotel last week..beautiful reception area with fire...bedrooms gorgeous, comfortable with robes and slippers which was a lovely touch. The staff are so friendly and it is close to the cliffs, local amenities and some great pubs. Very reasonably priced and we will definitely be going back again!
