We arrived on a Friday (20th Jan 2012) night at around 8:30 and were warmly greeted by the staff and given our room. The hotel wasn’t very busy so we headed for a local pub where there was music and food. On Saturday night we were pleasantly surprised to enter the bar and the was a ballad session going on with a load of Americans in. The musicians play for drink only which we obliged. Overall a brilliant hotel with the very best of service and they are no miserable with the heat either.
The only fault I could find with the hotel was that they have a plaque in the lobby to the corner boy that opened it, former Taoiseach Bertie Ahern. While this incompetent was opening hotels and pubs he was selling my country down the tubes. Take that plaque down and I’ll be back in June/July, otherwise I would not buy a drink in it.
