“Fabulous baking & a very warm welcome”

We booked a five day break at the Ramblers Rest before reading the two reviews on Tripadvisor and I must admit we were a little concerned after reading the first review.
However our fears were soon allayed.
We were warmly welcomed into Ann's home and treated to home bakied scones, apple pie & soda bread with a pot of tea every afternoon after a hard days sightseeing.
The rooms were spotless, they were cleaned and the towels changed everyday. The bedclothes were changed after the first two days.
Ann asked what we wanted for breakfast and was happy to provide it at whatever time suited us.
Nothing was too much trouble.
We would have no hesitation in recommending this B & B to anyone travelling to this area of Eire.
"The Four Ladies from Leicestershire".

“Aboherent”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 September 2006

We arrive at about 3pm with the intention of checking in and then going walking on the Cliffs of Moher and then onto dinner. Anne Flanagan was less than welcoming. Her exact works were "Your early, do you hear me, your early." She did show us our room which wasn't yet cleaned.

We returned later that evening. By then the beds had been made, but it didn't look like the bathroom had been cleaned from the previous occupants. There was a disgusting clump of hair rolling around in the shower drain. The shower also proved to be useless with only a drizzle of water from it.

The breakfast was nice, and Anne's daughter was far more welcoming. Although Anne seemed equally as intolerant of her American guests who admittedly did barge into the kitchen.

I certainly wouldn't recommend this guest house.

You should also note that the Cliffs of Moher has a 5 EUR parking charge and barriers prevent you from getting very far or too close to the edge. However the barriers were ignored by most people when the security guards wern't looking.

“So relaxing and homely !!!”

This was so relaxing and nice. There was an amazing view on to the Aran lslands. Ann the owner was so welcoming and friendly and the smell of home-baked scones and bread that wafted through the house mmm. The rooms were spotless.
After a king sized hangover l was served a lovely home-cooked breakfast by Caroline (Anns daughter) who told me the best cure for a hang-over was a good walk to the cliffs of moher, Would highly recommend the Ramblers Rest a home from home.

  • Liked — The rooms.
  • Disliked — Only problem no walking to pub would have to drive
  • Tips/Secrets — Go equipped for any kind of weather.
