“We still talk about Anne Flanagan every day!”

During our 10 day trip to Ireland, we spent 3 days at Ramblers Rest B&B in Doolin, County Clare. It was charming, clean, and close to points of interest like the Cliffs of Moher, the Burren, etc. But the best part of our stay was our hostess, Anne Flanagan. Anne treated us like family from the beginning. She is just a warm and delightful human being. It was very bittersweet continuing on with our trip and having to say good-bye to Anne. We still talk about her almost daily. When in Doolin, there's not a better place to stay. Thank you Anne, we love you and miss you dearly!

“AAA.....abbsolutely amazing”

Absolutely fabulous....what a stay we had at the Ramblers Rest.....the panaromic views coupled with the amazing welcome and fabulous food and open fire... what else can we say?

This was one of the best holidays we have ever had.....the warm welcome on arrival, the views from the house, the tea and scones on arrival, range of food available for breakfast (plus a lie-in!!!). We have two very young children, the hostess Anne was wonderful with them (she has several grandchildren) - we managed to sleep past our alarm and woke up at 11 am! However this was not an issue, believe it or not and we woke up to the sweet aroma of a wonderful irish breakfast...we have never experienced that before in any hotel or guesthouse and we have travelled extensively all over the world!

We will definitely come back to the Ramblers Rest.

“Fantastic Stay on the cliffs!”

What a welcome!:):) Anne.... your the best!!
Our time at the Ramblers Rest was a wonderful start to our vacation. We entered the B&B to the welcoming smell of the turf fire and the aroma of Irish scones. We checked in to our rooms finding them warm, clean and cozy. The view of the Aran Islands and Galway Bay was breathtaking. After pots of tea, chatting with Anne, and getting all the info about the local area, we made our way to the cliffs of Moher and Doolin to listen to some live Irish music.
We are looking forward to our return to the Ramblers Rest!

“Fabulous baking & a very warm welcome”

We booked a five day break at the Ramblers Rest before reading the two reviews on Tripadvisor and I must admit we were a little concerned after reading the first review.
However our fears were soon allayed.
We were warmly welcomed into Ann's home and treated to home bakied scones, apple pie & soda bread with a pot of tea every afternoon after a hard days sightseeing.
The rooms were spotless, they were cleaned and the towels changed everyday. The bedclothes were changed after the first two days.
Ann asked what we wanted for breakfast and was happy to provide it at whatever time suited us.
Nothing was too much trouble.
We would have no hesitation in recommending this B & B to anyone travelling to this area of Eire.

“Aboherent”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 September 2006

We arrive at about 3pm with the intention of checking in and then going walking on the Cliffs of Moher and then onto dinner. Anne Flanagan was less than welcoming. Her exact works were "Your early, do you hear me, your early." She did show us our room which wasn't yet cleaned.

We returned later that evening. By then the beds had been made, but it didn't look like the bathroom had been cleaned from the previous occupants. There was a disgusting clump of hair rolling around in the shower drain. The shower also proved to be useless with only a drizzle of water from it.

The breakfast was nice, and Anne's daughter was far more welcoming. Although Anne seemed equally as intolerant of her American guests who admittedly did barge into the kitchen.

I certainly wouldn't recommend this guest house.

You should also note that the Cliffs of Moher has a 5 EUR parking charge and barriers prevent you from getting very far or too close to the edge. However the barriers were ignored by most people when the security guards wern't looking.
