“Excellent B&B”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 November 2010

We had read excellent reviews of this guesthouse in English magazines and it lived up to its reputation, as we visited in November, understandably the resturant was closed for the winter, but judging by the quality of the breakfast, we would love to visit when the resturant is open, the rooms are spotless , the beds comfy, the dining room is very smart , overlooking the river, and there are two separate living rooms available for guests, James and Carol are very good hosts, they are also excellent musicians, and as they were not too busy due to the time of the year, we went to see them play at a session at O,Conners pub, it started at six and was still going when we left in the early hours of the morning, with musicians coming and going all night, we wondered if we would get our breakfast in the morning, but they were both up bright and breezy, and James pancackes were as good as ever, we would recomend Culinans to anyone, and can say that even going out of season it is possible to find music in the pubs and a great atmosphere, would also recomend Mc Ganns pub as excellant food.

“Clean spacious rooms”

Everything about this place is outstanding. Minutes from the Cliffs of Moher, it's located beside an old stone bridge over a stream that flows behind it with cows grazing on the far side. When you walk in there's a sitting room on the left with a peat fire going in the fireplace to welcome you. The rooms are bigger than most B&Bs and the bed was very comfortable. We didn't feel like going out, having had a long day, so we elected to eat in the restaurant there and we were glad we did as it was quite possibly the best meal of our trip. The full Irish Breakfast in the morning was perfectly prepared as well. I would recommend this establishment to anyone, without reservation.

Oddly enough we just stumbled onto it. We had planned to continue on but we were tired and it was raining, and the guard at the Cliffs of Moher said Doolin was the nearest place to look for a good meal and a place to stay. We found both at Cullinan's.

“Better than a 5-star hotel!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 October 2010

This was unquestionably the best room we stayed in during our entire visit to Ireland. We received a warm greeting by our host, and when we saw the room we knew it was a perfect choice. After reading other reviews here, I requested a room overlooking the stream - and I suggest you do the same! The room was immaculate, and very tastefully decorated, even down to the towels in the bathroom - we really felt that we were in a top class hotel, since it was far better than any of the other 'in-home' B&Bs we had visited so far ! The shower was strong and sizable, with all of the amenities available, and the view was simply breathtaking. It is very centrally located, so you are walking distance from the pubs and stores, with a lovely view along the way. And breakfast...amazing. I had the pancakes and my husband had the cheddar omelette - both were heavenly, with an additional buffet of cereals, yogurts, jams and breads, we left very full! I would have loved to stay here even longer, and am sure we will come back some day.

“A Winner By All Accounts”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 September 2010

After a long night of driving down, in the dark, on the twistiest roads I'd ever encountered, this was a bright spot, an oasis.
The room was spacious and spotless. Wish we could have stayed longer since we lucked out and probably got the largest room in the house. Was a real treat.
Out of our 12 days in Ireland this was my wife's favorite breakfast. The wait staff were just incredible and the food a gourmand's delight. Which you might expect given the proprietor's reputation for the dinner restaurant. Would have loved to stayed another day just to try it out (they were closed the evening we were there).
And did I mention that idyllic view out the window to the stream and bridge? Our morning meal was twice as long just so we could soak up the atmosphere!
I fully understand why this place gets the awards and glowing commendations!

“Faultles..................”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 September 2010

Did'nt think I would be back to this wonderful Guesthouse so soon again. Stayed for two nights and had dinner on both nights. Great food, impeccable service and superb ambience.
The bedroom was spotless , cosy and quiet. Doolin was hopping for the first week in September. A wonderful place to spend a weekend. West Clare is spectacular this time of the year and the people are so gracious, considerate and kind. no tourist resort comes near.
