Stayed here on 3rd and 4th March. Drove straight to Moeraki from Christchurch Airport. A straightforward drive that takes about 4 hours. Consequently we arrived a little late but it was no problem. We stayed in a self-contained tourist unit overlooking the harbour. It wasn't large but was plenty big enough and the front consisted of one large window affording a lovely view. The place was clean and tidy. We didn't use the kitchen but it seemed well enough equipped for those that wanted to. The sunset each evening was beautiful. We were going to walk to the lighthouse but in the event we drove to it. There is a lovely walk from the lighthouse parking area out to the point tiptoeing through the seals that commandeered the path and watching the penguins along the coast. There is a hide close to the lighthouse but we found the walk to the point gave better views of the wildlife. The boulders are close by, on the opposite side of the bay, and are an unusual geological feature. The cafe above the boulders does an excellent breakfast.
