A warm Irish welcome awaits you at Virginia House which is over 200 years old and is conveniently located in Fermoy centre, next to the river Blackwater. The rooms have been brought up to modern standards and are very clean and equipped with all modern facilities. We hired 3 rooms and some were bigger than the others and all were road facing. This is currently an issue as the road they face is the N8 which bottlenecks outside...... However from October 2006 the by pass opens and any noise problems will disappear with it all being so much more peaceful.

There is a small lounge area which is available to the guests and this is in the traditional style in keeping with the rest of the house. Breakfast is served here and a warm and hearty Irish breakfast is available for those who wish.

The rooms come at an average rate but the landlady is flexible on deals……. Don’t be afraid to ask if you want a number of rooms or are staying for more than a couple of days. It could make all the difference between your choice.

Overall a good choice for a stop (particularly after October 2006) and if you want clean and comfortable facilities with a warm Irish welcome then this could be just the place for you.

We stayed at Virginia House for several days and it was truely relaxing. It is a great location, just across the bridge from downtown. And the hospitality of Leo and Mary was extremely
warm. The accommodations were perfect and squeaky clean!!!
We felt very spoiled and lucky to have found Leo and Mary's B&B and we definitely recommend their place to anyone traveling in
Co. Cork.
