“Powerscourt spirngs or stings???”

Spent a day 'soiree' here with a friend. Service from reception was poor although the spa was obviously not very busy. We were brought to the residents lounge, which felt like being in a retirement home, the decor was quite dated. we were left waiting 20 mins for attendance on arrival. Then proceeded to go to the pool area. This really seemed like a county council pool from the 80s. Shabby & in need of repair. The steam room did not work at all. There was not heating in the gents changing room or hallways which was freezing. Treatments were nice, however short as compared to the premium prices we paid. Dinner was not very memorable but the service was nice. Overall, very poor value for money. I wouldn't return ever.

“Dated and not good value”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 August 2008

My husband and I have just returned from a mini spring break in Powerscourt(ie: one night, two treatments, dinner, breakfast and lunch)I agree with the other contributers, you really could do better for almost 700 euro..The staff are very pleasant and the therapists we both enountered were excellent but the place is so dated and the pool area so mouldy. The bedrooms were awful, felt so clinical with cheap furniture and a dodgy shower, the food was nice but as theres no room service and you are in the middle of nowhere starvation did help!ThankGod theres at least a decent winelist and we managed to sneak a little to the room as dinner finishes early and there wasnt a lot to do!!Ive heard a little rumour that it may be up for sale in the near future so maybe thats why the cosy standards of old have gone,to me it was grand but certainly not worth the money and needs a complete revamp.Pity.

  • Liked — Treatments were good
  • Disliked — The place itself,so dated and clinical.Nothing romantic about it at all!

“Bit disappointing”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 June 2008

My husband and I visited Powerscourt Springs for a massage. We got there early so as to sample the restaurant that they advertise on the website only to find out that this is for residents only and we couldn’t even get a coffee anywhere on the premises.
Both of our massages were lovely but we were both very disappointed with the look and feel of the place. The room that the massage was in was like a shoddy old bathroom that they put a table into. The walls were dark grey and there was no relaxing music in the background. Again, massage was very good but the ambience here is very disappointing. We could have just gone to local beauty shop for the same experience.

“Me Time”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 April 2008

a few years ago a friend recomended i take a trip to powerscourt springs health farm to relax and unwind, now five years later my mother, sister & i visit each year for a mini weekend.

we are three hard working women,to escape our busy lives we leave husbands, boyfriends & children behind us so that someone else can look after us for 24 hours.
we always start our stay off with a visit to the tranquility room & 9 times out 10 one us falls asleep,

the wide range of treatments they offer means there is something for everybody,my favourite is the full body massage 55 minutes of pure relaxation.my sister & i take advantage of the gym while our mam walks around the beautiful grounds, before we take dip in the pool.

we can't say enough about the staff who are always friendly & very helpful and the selection of food is top quality.
roll on 2009 so we can visit again.

if you want to treat yourself or someone you know to some ME TIME visit powerscourt springs health farm because your worth it.

“Chilled out”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 April 2008

Took my mum here for mothers day and we had a great time. This was my 14th stay here so I guess that says it all.
It probably isnt as trendy as new spas but I think there must be few spas located in such a beautiful location that can give me what I want, which is to totally switch off and have the equivalent of a luxury "pyjama day". From the moment we arrived we changed into our robe and slippers and remained that way until dinner.
Dinner was excellent, three courses catering to all needs.
The best part for me, apart from the treatments obviously, was the following morning falling out of bed in my robe for breakfast no need to dress because you have to pass through a hotel lobby, the same for lunch hair destroyed after a swim and a facial and no one cares. The staff are always friendly even recognising me from my yearly or twice yearly visits.
They have a tranquility room that mum and I fell asleep in within a few minutes. My birthday was in april and my husband gave me vouchers so I'll be booking my next stay soon.
