“First trip to Ireland”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 February 2010

Hunters Lodge was our first and only reservation on our 10 day road trip / adventure through the West coast of Ireland. The proprietors (Robert & Kathleen) were gracious and accomodating.
The food was surpisingly good (we did not know what to expect).
The bar area at night offered varied personalities was fun enough for us. The location is quaint with beautiful farm like scenes. The Lodge itself sits right on the main thoroughfare, but we did not experience anything bad because of it.
The pints went down smooth with Robert at the helm!
The perfect location, close enough to the airport and yet in between other touristy areas.
My husband and myself would gladly come back again, and make sure we stay at least one night in Hunters lodge.
Thanks much
Dave & Maggie

“WOW!!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 February 2010

What can I say... I felt at home from the second we walked into the place!

We stayed at the hunter's lodge while attending a wedding in nearby Dromoland recently. We arrived on Fri evening and had dinner in the bar next door (it is all the one business).
The food was typical pub grub but absolutely delicious, and the service was friendly and warm. and the prices were soooo good after being in the city! We even got to know a few of the locals!!!!
Breakfast the next morning was fresh from the grill and the coffee was AMAZING!!
The rooms are beautifully decorated with restful colours and fab beds. There are tea/coffee trays, flat screen t.v. FREE wi fi, hairdryers and the showers had a great kick!! (just what we needed the morning after the wedding!!!)

This is a great place to stay for a 'home away from home' feeling. We would highly recommend it if you are visiting Co. Clare for any reason, RobertKathleen and the staff there was just amazing and do everything to make you feel both at home and get you whatever you want!
great place!!

“Very clean, warm and comfortable accomadation at a reasonable price.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 January 2010

A great affordable place to stay if attending a wedding in Drumoland Castle or simply holidaying in Clare. The rooms were well decorated with confortable beds and flat screen TV's. The owners clearly were proud of their guesthouse and were very friendly and helpful. The same people own the pub next door which serves great food in a warm and welcoming atmosphere.

What a nice surprise upon entering the room! The decor was really nice and the beds were very comfortable. Kathleen and Richard are pleasant hosts who made us feel welcome from the start. Breakfast was fantastic and satisfying. I enjoyed my brief stay at Hunter's Lodge.

“Clean and decent with wonderful hospitality”

Since there are no photos posted on the Hunter's Lodge website I was somewhat leary about exactly what I had booked. Pleasantly surprised. After just arriving in Shannon, we were very tired. Our plans were to attend a family wedding reception that evening at Dromoland. Since they helped us arrange a taxi to take us back and forth to the castle for the party took much of the stress off of us.The owners we so accomidating and allowed us into the room really early so we could get some rest before the party. The rooms are updated, clean, and the breakfast the next morning was great. Thanks Kathleen.- even though she seemed to enjoy seeing us 'nurse' our 'hang overs' will a full Irish breakfast. We wish them all the best!
