“Our Fourth Stay”

This is the fourth time we have stayed at the Tides. Each stay gets better and better. In reading other reviews they are all correct. Perfect breakfasts, wonderful clean rooms with sheets that smell like a fresh Irish morning. David has many interesting tales to tell and Doreen is a very wonderful hostess. Next time you visit, have David tell you about the seeweed baths in town! It was a highlight this time after a hard day of golf. David and Doreen, believe me we will be back!!!!!

Room Tip: Family suite sleeps 4 adults confortably.

my wife and i were celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary with a golf trip to Ireland. spent most of our time with David and his family at Tides. was a great experience, top notch, especially learning to love the black and white pudding.

“Top Notch”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 September 2011

Dave and Doreen were gracious hosts, and the lodging was first rate. Cooked breakfast each morning, made to order, saved me and a few in my group. In no time we felt like we were old friends of the family. Dave was spot on with questions about Ballbunion and beyond. If you get the chance, have Dave tell the "apprentice" story - a classic just like the Tides.

“Charming, clean, convenient and great hospitality. You won't be disappointed!”

Dave and Doreen were great hosts to us. This bed and breakfast is set up to accomodate golfers. But even if you don't golf (I don't) there is plenty to do in the town. The room we stayed in was huge. It had a beautiful bathroom with all the amenities, a refrigerator, a coffee maker, and sitting area with a television. It was really more like a suite. Breakfast was outstanding. I like the Irish Breakfast, but my husband doesn't. There were plenty of choices for breakfast so that we were both happy and full by the time we left.
Dave was able to get my husband a tee time at Ballybunion in a moments notice and even played the round with him. We now have a friend for life in Dave Walsh and we are glad about that. While my husband played golf, I walked around the town. The Tides is located on a quiet lot less than a 5 minute walk from the center of the town. It is a beautiful place to visit with plenty of shops and a beach to walk along. The scenery is magnificent along the shore and also from the front porch of "The Tides."
It was by far the best bed and breakfast we stayed in during our trip. The price was extremely reasonable. We have sent many friends and family members back. We plan on returning on our next trip to the Emerald Isle.

Was delighted with hubbys choice on this one - last leg of our honeymoon.
David was so welcoming and friendly.
Rooms were fabulous and en suite facilities excellent with bath and shower.
Breakfast was wonderful made even more enjoyable with the friendly banter of David and the exceptional views of Ballybunion. david is very knowlegable about the area.
Would be perfect for golf retreat or a night away to BAllybunion. I dont play golf but did note many facilities for golf enthusiasts such as drying room and David is a big fan so you'll be in safe hands.
Would definately stay again.
