We booked this B & B based on the very favorable reviews it received from Family Homes of Ireland. The interior decoration was tacky, gaudy and cheap. Plus the whole place was very dirty. The bathroom sink had hair and dusty goo all over the top of it and there were webs and spiders in our bedrooms as well as in the bathroom. The bath mat was disgustingly filthy.

A number of disinfectant products and air fresheners were in the bathroom (including something blue in the toilet) the combination of which made our eyes, throat and chest burn. The stench was so strong that we had to keep the bathroom door (which was across the hall from our room) closed in order to sleep.

It was obvious that the owners do not want to spend a cent on the upkeep of this property as everything is shabby and of the flimsiest quality back in the long-ago day when it was new. The towels were thin, stiff and mismatched, ditto the sheets, pillowcases, etc. We were even doubtful that the sheets were clean because they were gritty and yellowed.

There are many fine B & Bs in Ireland. During our trip we stayed in 10 others - each of which was really terrific. Do yourself a big favor and stay away from this place!
