“Very Nice Owners/Quiet/Helpful!”

It was our last night in Ireland. Our GPS couldn't find Bunratty Meadows, so we found ourselves back on the main drag through Bunratty looking for signs to the B&B. We found the signs, and followed them without incident towards the Shannon River to Bunratty Meadows.

We unloaded our things in the room, and headed out to the car to get some dinner in town. The engine had started, we put ourselves in reverse to get out of the parking space when....our host came running out of the building, and implored us to stop the car. She noticed that we had a flat tire, and had we kept driving, we would have ruined the rims!

She called her husband to help us with the car - the Car Rental place had the lug nuts on so tight that we couldn't get them off with man-power. My husband and her husband each took turns jumping on the jack to loosen the nuts to no avail. The only thing that happened was the jack bent.

We decided to call their version of AAA, and wait - but they would hear nothing of it. They insisted that we call a cab, go into town, enjoy our last night in Ireland. We left our car keys with the hosts, they waited for AAA, and handled everything while we went out to get some dinner. It was a blessing in disguise - we both got to drink and relax a little bit since we had cab service both ways, and ended up having a great story about our last night in Ireland :)

The next morning, our host was up early cooking away. She made us breakfast at 7:00 instead of the standard 8:30 (so we could make our early flight). She was so helpful, nice, and the food was very good.

I loved that there is a computer for guests to use, and a printer that you can print your tickets to Shannon Airport on. There is also an iPod dock in the bedrooms, which was a nice touch. We got to listed to some podcasts together instead of plugging in our head sets and listening to things independently.

They are 10 minutes from Shannon Airport. If we go to Ireland again, we will definitely use their services again.

“Simply Wonderful B&B Just Outside Town with Gorgeous Views!”

At the last minute, We chose to stay our last two nights in Bunratty instead of Dublin, and found Bunratty Meadows on my Blackberry through Trip Advisor. We were lucky that they had a room for two nights, and it was a perfect experience.

Dariena was such a gracious host and the fresh fruit option on the breakfast menu was a welcome (and delicious) option after a number of full Irish breakfasts elsewhere (you can still get traditional breakfast though). Oh, the scones were the best I have ever had!

Beautiful sunset views from our room and the patio where we cracked open a few Smithwick's at the end of a few long days.

Great amenaties in a quiet, rural setting. Perfect!

Room Tip: Beautiful views from the two western facing rooms.

“Warm welcome and peaceful surroundings”

This is a lovely and scenic spot, quiet, but just a two-minute drive to Bunratty Castle. The hosts are very welcoming, and most importantly get my jokes. Breakfasts were delicious, and my children were delighted to see pancakes on the menu! Of course, Mr. Picky (age 11) detected that Quebec maple syrup wasn't served, but since we were in Ireland, he decided he was ok with that :-) Everything was sparkling clean, and guests could avail themselves to a computer, lounge and dining room. The room was a bit tight for 4 people with luggage, but even the extra cot was comfortable. I would definitely recommend a stay here!

“Lovely!”

Making the most of a wedding in Ireland, we found this delightful B & B to be the perfect spot to immerse ourselves in the countryside, whether upon arrival to / departure from Ireland, or just for those traveling through. The location is idyllic -- on acres/hectares of beautiful rolling land all the way to the Shannon River, and with a view of cows and sheep from our bedroom window as we awakened in the morning. The room was clean with comfortable beds, and nicely appointed. Dariena provided a delicious breakfast, including choices beyond other B&Bs like smoked salmon with scrambled eggs or boiled egg with fresh fruit. Besides all of the guidebooks' suggestions in the surrounding area, this lovely spot is so centrally located you can even visit the non-commercialized coastal roads for breathtaking views (west) or drive to Kinsale (south) with ease. Try not to miss this one!

Our hosts, Dariena and Barry, did a fantastic job of taking care of us during our stay. The food was good, the rooms were spotless and the location was great. We enjoyed the peaceful country views of fields and the river Shannon. Barry took extra time to make sure that we could log on to the internet to check our email, which was greatly appreciated.
