“The VERY best”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 October 2009

We stayed with Michael and Ashley and found it to be superb ! A small establishment that met our every need. We arrived early in the morning and were met by Michael waiting for us. Snacks and tea and our room ready for sleep. They were most helpful and the eveing meals were extrordinary. They made our trip special. We'll be back !

“1st class traditional charm”

I stayed with my wife for 2 nights on a B&B and Evening meal package. It was fantastic value. The staff are extremely welcoming and helpful, the food is wonderful and the rustic ambience of the traditional bar with a peat fire burning was pure charm. The saying "there are no strangers, only friends you have yet to meet" is so apt for Keanes. All the locals were warm and friendly and extremely helpful for tips on the area. The room was bright, clean and spacious and even had a useful fridge topped up with fresh milk from the traditional shop on site. I have stayed in many high class hotels all over the world but never felt such a valued guest as I did here. We have already booked to go back this summer and will be taking my daughter and her husband this time.

“Paradise”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 May 2008

What an amazing place. We stayed for a week in September 2007 and were treated like family by the owners. Its in an ideal situation for breathtaking scenery and the accommodation was superb.
Try eating in the restaurant for a real treat. Michaels cooking is divine.
We have just booked to go back this September and we hope to make it a yearly event as we loved it so much.

“What a Dump!!!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 August 2007

The hotel looked nothing like the pictures on its website. The room was a converted garage that overlooked the dump! The sign on the front of the 'hotel' was literally swinging in the breeze.

Only the 'Munsters' would approve of this establishment. Stay away from it!

I feel I must reply to the review by KrisK "What a Dump" Aug. 19th 2007. What MrK omitted to say was he never actually stayed at my establishment (our records show he cancelled) so I am very surprised he can pass judgrement on it. . If Mr K did his homework and read reviews on the establishment on other websites he would see it described amongst other things as being "rustic" and if you want five star treatment you don't get it at the prices charged. We are not a hotel, we are a small family-owned and managed establishment, situated on the west coast of Ireland not New Jersey. What we do is endeavour to make our guests stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible, what they get is good clean ensuite accommodation in modern apartments(not converted garages) and the very best of locally produced food. Lots of our guests return time and time again and I have numerous letters, email etc. from guests who have stayed with us thanking us for our hospitality. As for the "swinging sign" sorry MrK there is no sign or never has been. One more thing everything on the website is there to be seen in person, perhaps MRK has got the wrong establisment.
