We chanced on Mountain View and it turned out to be a winner. At 60Euro for the two of us it was among the cheapest B&Bs we stayed at in Ireland. Susan and Tony treated us like family, the room was clean and comfortable. So good, we stayed an extra night. But it also proved an excellent base for exploring the north-west. We visited the not-to-be-missed Glenveigh National Park, including learning the tragedy of the local evictions. We drove around startling coastal headlands, through peat bogs and right to the most northerly tip of Ireland. It never felt over-touristy. We even had time for an easy drive into Northern Ireland to stroll through the Bogside murals in Derry.
