We spend a night here and it more than met our expectations. Our suite was large and very comfortable with views of the walled garden. Karen our host was quite gracious and prepared us a very nice breakfast. We did have a bit of trouble finding it. This was on our first night in Ireland, and we did not realize that the location was outside of the town, so we stopped to ask at a gas station clerk who directed us.

We stayed in the Garden Suite, which is a lovely room on the ground floor. It had a separate sitting room that looked out into the garden. Very quiet room, very comfortable bed, friendly staff, and good breakfast. Overall very happy with our stay here.

The owners are very warm and hospitable. The rooms are lovely and clean. The town is a great place to stop and catch your breath from site seeing overload. Near by are the Great Aillwee Caves discovered by the great grandfather of the current lodges owner. Lastly breakfast was yummy and filling. A definite hit. If you find yourself at the Rusheen on a clear night be sure to take a moment to star gaze its well worth it.

We strongly recommend this lovely lodge in north county clare. It is extremely comfortable and cozy, with many nice touches in a sweet garden setting. Very conveniently located. The staff couldn't be nicer and are ready to help with any sort of advice or extra help that you may need. Also, the lodge is situated adjacent to one of the wilderness walks through the Burren. The whole place has a magical quality!
