“Lovely, efficient hotel”

I stayed here for 2 nights with my husband. We had the most simple hassle-free check-in I have ever expereinced - it took about ten seconds. Underground parking was free so we could come and go as we liked. There were a number of lovely restaurants and bars nearby so plenty to choose from to eat. Oranmore is a lovely town. THe room was very bright and spacious. We had a room on the third floor with a balcony overlooking the sea which I was not expecting. The hotel was lovely and quiet. Breakfast was nice. The check-out procedure was again extremely efficient. Having spent the previous weekend in Dublin where every single procedure seeemed to be bizarely complicated (& cost extra) it was a pleasure to stay here.

“Ticked all the boxes for the price :)”

I stayed here on Saturday 3rd sept. with my children (12 + 6, boy and girl), and husband. We were in galway for the Ironman competition, Oranmore is a great base and so cheap for food. The hotel was clean, room was clean and laid out with two sofa beds and double bed. We still had plenty of room, we also had a balcony with a view of Oranmore castle and ocean, lovely. We were suprised that breakfast was included for the price €90, for four bed and breakfast. We ordered a hot breakfast from the waitress as the buffet trays were kinda empty, but this was due to a large group eating just before us. The breakfasts were by no means gourmet, an Irish fry-up and toast with tea , juices cereal and fruit were also available, but were fine and everyone enjoyed their meal.
We stayed on saturday night and price was still very reasonable, we were going to stay on sunday and this would have cost €59 including breakfast, but decided too beat the traffic instead. I think the prices are great especially if travelling with kids. There is a casino in the hotel but not much atmosphere in there, maybe it gets goin after pubs close??? Better hotel to stay in wit kids would be Maldron Oranmore, there is cinema, bowling, pool, gym etc all in the same compound , plus good food too. no room/food service in Ramada but great pub food and bistros two mins walk and famous Irish Oyster bar Paddy Clarkes 10km away, €10 in taxi. Free parking at hotel too. We enjoyed our stay here and thought we got value for money especially as there was four of us. My family stayed at Oranmore Lodge, very bad food and service, twice the price per night, and my brother and his family stayed in Maldron Oranmore, thumbs up for the maldron but location wise is ten minutes walk from the town. O'Riordans pub is great for food as is Keanes, chipper , chinese, indian, pizza and subway fast food all in town too.

Room Tip: Ask for a balcony room we stayed in 314

“Excellent Receptionist "Marie".”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 August 2011

Stayed in Ramada Encore, Oranmore on Tue 23rd August 11. After having some difficulty getting accomadation Marie made every effort to get booked in some where. Finally we ended in the Ramada. Nice bright clean hotel.
Buffet breakfast very poor. Fruit coctail looked like it was from a tin. There was only a few slices of rasher and a couple of sausages and hash browns. Had to ask for a fried egg. Luckily we were only staying 1 night.
Marie was the only redeeming factor about this hotel. She was very friendly both on check in and out. Sadly I dont think I'll be going back.

“Worst Hotel Experience in years”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 August 2011

I would never go near this place again.

As I entered I had the sense of being in an old folks home.

Room was clean and basic. Reminded me of IKEA. View from the room was ok.. In the evening whilst I was in Galway City, they gave another guest a key to our room in error.. Thankfully it was one of our group..

Breakfast wasnt very nice. They have the toasters positioned at the end of the que for breakfast which meant that everyone wanting breakfast was having to que due to people waited on their toast. Water in shower was luke warm-cold and there was a serious lack of pressure..

They took a pre authorisation on my card which would be refunded on check out. 4 days later still waiting.

Staff were friendly. They advertise on their site that there is a leisure centre nearby. I asked 2 staff who knew nothing about it.

I stayed as part of a wedding group, which I assume was part of a wedding package, the groom was allocated the smallest room of all of us with a view of a grave yard, everyone else was given a larger room with a sunset view of Oranmore. So no thought given to room allocation.

This is by far the worst managed hotel I have ever stayed in & I would suggest anyone looking for a nice hotel in the area finds alternative accommodation.

“Great value for money”

We went here for two nights. We wanted something cheap yet clean and comfortable. It ticked all boxes. Our bed was comfortable, the room was spacious, the bathroom was clean and the television had a good selection of channels.
The staff were very nice and friendly. The safe was not working and they stored my jewelry for me in the office safe and they were v thorough in having me sign and seal the envelope it was in.
My fiancé asked to leave his bicycle at the hotel while we took a trip and again they were very friendly and kept it for him.
It is a bit out of Galway, this didn't matter much to us as we drove into Salthill on one day and went to the cinema by the hotel in Oranmore that night.
Overall we thought the hotel was clean and modern with friendly staff. It wasn't plush with extras but it was very good value for money.
