I stayed here on Saturday 3rd sept. with my children (12 + 6, boy and girl), and husband. We were in galway for the Ironman competition, Oranmore is a great base and so cheap for food. The hotel was clean, room was clean and laid out with two sofa beds and double bed. We still had plenty of room, we also had a balcony with a view of Oranmore castle and ocean, lovely. We were suprised that breakfast was included for the price €90, for four bed and breakfast. We ordered a hot breakfast from the waitress as the buffet trays were kinda empty, but this was due to a large group eating just before us. The breakfasts were by no means gourmet, an Irish fry-up and toast with tea , juices cereal and fruit were also available, but were fine and everyone enjoyed their meal.
We stayed on saturday night and price was still very reasonable, we were going to stay on sunday and this would have cost €59 including breakfast, but decided too beat the traffic instead. I think the prices are great especially if travelling with kids. There is a casino in the hotel but not much atmosphere in there, maybe it gets goin after pubs close??? Better hotel to stay in wit kids would be Maldron Oranmore, there is cinema, bowling, pool, gym etc all in the same compound , plus good food too. no room/food service in Ramada but great pub food and bistros two mins walk and famous Irish Oyster bar Paddy Clarkes 10km away, €10 in taxi. Free parking at hotel too. We enjoyed our stay here and thought we got value for money especially as there was four of us. My family stayed at Oranmore Lodge, very bad food and service, twice the price per night, and my brother and his family stayed in Maldron Oranmore, thumbs up for the maldron but location wise is ten minutes walk from the town. O'Riordans pub is great for food as is Keanes, chipper , chinese, indian, pizza and subway fast food all in town too.
Room Tip: Ask for a balcony room we stayed in 314
