I stayed at PresDuLac every couple of years with my parents, and now I'm staying here every couple of years with my children! So the hotel is not new. However, they do update periodically and everything in our room in the main building was of good quality.
This hotel offers lots of free extras for families: there are 6 paddleboats, with lifejackets, which can be used for free on the small duck pond. An adult must accompany a child under 12. Two of the paddleboats looked brand new.
There is a small asphalt minigolf with putters and balls available free to loan from the front desk.
There is a small concrete shuffleboard with disks. They were a bit chipped, but the kids loved it anyway.
There is a playground with swings, climber, slides.
There is also a spacious sandbox with shovels and buckets provided by the hotel.
Inside, there is a swimming pool.
It can rain in late afternoon in New Brunswick, but we had clear weather and used everything both after we arrived and again the next morning.
The restaurant is good, very bright, very pleasant. The grilled haddock was still great, but the pastry isn't quite as light as it used to be.
The hotel is currently affiliated with the Quality chain. In the past it has been a Best Western and it often is private.
There are some small cottages around the duck pond, too.
There is not much road noise, as the new highway has bypassed Grand Falls (also called Grand Sault in French, as New Brunswick is fully bilingual in French and English). There is a train track nearby, however we didn't hear any trains at night. The track is not heavily used.
We did not need to use the air conditioning or heat, so I do not know if they are loud or not.
Personally, I will stay here again.
