“Beautiful hotel, great food and the friendliest welcome we've ever had”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 February 2012

My wife and I stayed here for 5 nights in February. From the moment we arrived at reception we knew we had made the right choice. The welcome was so warm and friendly, the reception staff showing genuine interest in making our stay as nice as possible. In fact all of the staff showed a real enjoyment of their work and a determination to make our stay a happy one. The pool area is very pleasant, although best outside of family hours, otherwise it is difficult to swim with lots of children around. We ate in the Dungeon on two nights and had excellent meals on both occasions. The Buffet breakfast was outstanding with a choice of continental or full Irish. Set close to the village of Dalkey with great restaurants and pubs, and the Dart railway taking you to the centre of Dublin in around 20 minutes, this is simply a fantastic place to stay to enjoy the best of Irish hospitality.

Room Tip: We stayed in the standar Deluxe room which was fine for our needs, I guess that the sea view rooms m...

We had a lovely stay courtesy of the Translink offer. Only complaint is that there was no mini bus service from Dart.

Piano player on the Fri night was lovely and v obliging.

Don't expect five star luxury but instead savour a warm welcome at one of the friendliest hotels I've ever stayed at. This was my third stay here and it was really great.

“Beautiful hotel in lovely location”

Stayed for 2 nights for birthday/anniversary celebration with partner. Overall hotel decor lovely. Rooms clean and modern but it can depend on which room you get (they're renovating) Dined in hotel restaurant on 1st night with food excellent standard although waitress forgot to come back to take our order when we asked for more time, so ended up pulling a different girl aside after 15 mins. We used the pool and sauna facilities which were very clean and modern. Please be aware you need a swim cap for pool use so don't forget to bring it along! Bed was very comfy and shower powerful and hot. Breakfast was lovely with buffet style area. Tea/coffee ordered separately along with eggs. I can't praise breakfast staff enough for their diligent work in trying to accommodate everyone as it was very busy! Checkout straightforward and pleasant. Overall beautiful hotel in lovely natural surroundings with excellent facilities served by hardworking staff.
