We stayed at the Westbourne over the weekend (2 nights). It is on one of the main road in Bray, Quinnsborough rd), about 10 minutes walk from the sea and the DART station.
The entrance is through Dusty's bar but when we arrived late at night on Friday, we just had to guess which doorbell to ring, there was no sign whatsoever! The room was clean but tiny and smelly with a view accross airvents on the roof tops. The bathroom was ludicrously small, I didn't think shower cubicle came in 1 ftx 1ft... :) There was paint pealing from the ceiling and everything was in a state of disrepair. Also, the walls and floors were very uneven... honest, it wasn't the Guiness!!
The night porter told us that breakfast was served until 10:30 but when we turned up at 10 past, the chef, sitting smoking at the bar (it is served in Dusty's), told us off for being late... his pseudo sarcasm was lost in his genuine rudeness! We were served a plate of bacon, beans, sausage and egg. All was cheap, reheated from god knows when.
All in all, apart from its location and the fact that the resident bar is opened all night, there's not many reasons to stay there. Even the rate at €89 was a lot from what you can get elsewhere in Bray!!!
