While touring the Ring of Kerry it took much longer than we thought, so we decided to stop in the little Village of Waterville, at a B&B callled cliffords Ocean View.
Although the house was Quiet old it was kept pretty clean . However unlike the title our room had only a backyard View. I think maybe their is only one room with a sea View. But as it was only for the one night and the lady was quite easy to bargin down to euro 25.00 per person..There are some good seafood resturants in Waterville.

Clearly Clifford's was a good stay but not excellent one: the B&B was a bit old but still in a good shape.
So was the breakfast: classical without excellence but good.

However the part of sunshine came from our host. Very welcoming, she also took care of her guests marvellously: seeing the bad weather and knowing we would arrive by foot, she called us to pick us earlier.

I din't know what to make of Cliffords when I arrived. Modern it is not. The decor is very much like the style of the 1970s, pine ceilings, parque floor, panelled walls and artex. But I have to say this begins to grow on you and before I left I came to look on Cliffords with a kind of fondness..
The location is right on the front of a lovely bay, rooms upstairs and to the front would have sea views.
The bedroom was large, a little dark (given the decoration style) a small TV high up on the wall. The bathroom was a good size with shower over the bath.
The guest lounge had a TV with satelite box but this didn't work, so only 3 channels and reception was a little weak.
Parking was in the back yard.
Breakfast was good, with a nice choice and well served.

The location at the seaside made us choose this B&B for our stay in Waterville. If we had known we were going to love this place as much as we did, we would have planned a longer stay here. Abbie Clifford is a lovely host. She does everything to make her guests feel welcome, and her breakfasts are great!
Do not hesitate to ask her for advice about trips and walks: she knows everything you need to know to have a great time.

We will definitely return to this place somewhere in the future!
