We stayed with Gerry and Aoife for one night, after a long drive from Dingle. They made us feel so welcome in their home, recommended places in Doolin to eat and listen to music, and arranged our ferry from Doolin to the Aran Islands for the next day. Gerry makes an incredible Irish breakfast, including delicious eggs from his free-range chickens. The highlight was when he took us out to see the donkeys, ponys and chickens. He clearly cares very much about these animals. We would recommend Slieve Elva to anyone wishing for a rural Irish experience with lovely hosts.

Hallo everybody, I hope my review will be useful for somebody. I have made the reservation in this B&B and already received confirmation. But one week later the hosts sent me e-mail that they cancel my booking because they have a big group this time. So actually they cancelled the confirmed booking. Be careful while making booking with this house. I ama professional travel agent but see this for the first time.

They have donkeys, ponies, 2 mad dogs, and chickens that lay the most wonderful eggs I've had in a long time. Gerry and Aoife (sp?) are your hosts and they are the most delightful couple I've met in ages. Rooms are comfortable, the location in the Burren is superb. Gerry has recommendations for everything and put us on to some great music and craic in Doolin.

My friend and I just returned from a two week vacation to Ireland. While we were there, we rented a car and traveled around the south. Slieve Elva was one of the best B&Bs that we stayed at. Gerry was absolutely wonderful. He treated us like family and gave us some great advice on a local pub. He also brought his donkeys in towards the house so that we could feed and pet them. It was a great experience.

Lisdoonvarna was one of our favorite places to visit because of the atmosphere, people and hospitality. I highly recommend both visiting this town and staying at Slieve Elva.
