Everything about the Carrygerry House is wonderful. It's owned by a lovely couple and comes complete with it's own BAR and restaurant! The house has real character - and is less than 10 minutes drive from the airport. The B&B has all modern conveniences, but retains it's beauty and the owners have restored it so that you know you're in a very old & special home, yet you are comfortable. We were the only guests as it was the middle of winter, and it was wonderful to get to chat with the owners and get to know them. This is a charming B&B that is somehow very luxurious as well! Any time I fly into Shannon I will most certainly check right into the Carrygerry House!

This is a real opportunity to stay in a nice old country house rather than a bland modern hotel around Shannon. It is very convenient for the airport and they will make a big fuss of you in such a cozy atmosphere. The food is also excellent.
Remember it is a country house so it is a little way out of town but there is no airport noise .

I have eaten in Carrygerry House many times in the past but this is the first time I have reviewed it. Quite simply put, this is the best restaurant in County Clare based on the quality of food, service, value, atmosphere and location. The menu changes according to what is fresh and available, if you visit and Ostrich is on the menu, try it. Also try the locally produced, award winning Black Pudding if it's on the starter menu On our last visit, I had Goose which was excellent. The wine list is not extensive but has something for everyone.

A nice touch is that when you arrive, you are led into the sitting room in front of the fire to have a drink and select from the menu. When your meal is ready, you are then brought to your table.

A 5 course menu of starter, soup or sorbet, mains, dessert and tea or coffee for Euro 35 is good in any restaurant. In a restaurant of the calibre of Carrygerry it is outstanding.

My wife and I spent the last night of our 30th anniversary trip at the Carrygerry Country House. It was the perfect ending to our special vacation. We were warmly welcomed and had a superb dinner. Beforehand we had pre-dinner drinks in the waiting room where we conveniently placed our food orders. This was a new experience for us (we don't normally do this in the U.S.) but really neat. While waiting to be seated we had a lovely conversation with some locals. The grounds are beautiful and we were free to walk around and explore. Just down the road is the local Honk Bar pub where we enjoyed our last pints before going home. Even though we were just minutes from the Shannon Airport, there was no airplane noise that we noticed in the evening. Shannon is very easy to get out of and we recommend this to anyone for that reason. Back to our room, it was gorgeous. A four-poster bed, beautiful view outside, very romantic. I hope you get a chance to stay here.
