“Memorable place to stay-awesome breakfast,great house,relaxing garden”

Carrigane house is conveniently located near Adare village, one of the prettiest village's in Ireland. It's close proximity to Shannon airport makes it an ideal place to rest after arriving or before departure. I stayed in many B&Bs during my vacation from New York but this is definitely one that I will revisit when I return. Everything about it was first class. I was so impressed with its warmth, charm and good conversation with its host who made sure we had everything we needed. The en suite room was bright, comfortable and impeccably clean. Our breakfast was one of the best we had on our travels, great variety, coffee was excellent, home made brown bread was delicious. This B&B has the personal touch and room quality that would be hard to find in most hotels in Ireland.

“Wonderful Warm and Welcoming”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 March 2010

Contrary to the last review, we can only say that our hosts were so warm and welcoming, we were warmly greeted with a delicious afternoon tea, very helpful and accommodating in all regards. Directed us to one of Ireland's best hotels for dinner (which was in walking distance) a very memorable dinner, returned home to a very comfy room and in the morning I would have to say our host gave us the best breakfast we experienced in travelling the whole of Ireland. Served on fine Irish china and the biggest selection of fruit and choice of hot breakfasts. In one word Impeccable. Would recommend any friends travelling from Australia to stay there.

“Not great”

Stayed in this B & B with my 2 sisters for 1 night while attending wedding in woodlands hotel. The room was extremely cold when we arrived during the day and was even colder when we returned at 3am. We informed the owner of this when leaving and we were told that the heating was on the previous evening while we were out but she was aware that it was not on in the morning. No apology or no explanation was given for not having the heating on for a cold morning in november. However we did receive a phone call later apologising for the cold, apparently there was a problem with the heating in that room.

The breakfast was very good and the room was clean. The owner wasnt very friendly and never asked us if everything was ok at any stage.

“A lovely place to stay with friendly owners”

Maura was minding another B&B for the owner who was visiting a doctor, and recommended her own property because the other B&B was fully booked. We had a ground-floor room that was very nice and a very good breakfast. Her husband was very friendly and showed us his collection of tractors. Maura was extremely kind to us when my husband wasn't feeling well. I would recommend this B&B highly.

“Good place to stay -if you have a car”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 May 2008

We were recommended this b&b by another b&b that did not have any vacancies for the night we went to Adare. We were informed it was about 1 km. outside the village. The town in itself is quite small, so you do not want to stay too far away from the centre, unless you want a farm house of course. According to our car, this was however over 2 kms. outside of the village centre, and it was too far away for us who wanted a centric place to stay. The b&b in itself was clean and nice, the shower was a bit low on pressure, the breakfast was good, and they had private parking in front of the house. The owners were polite, but distant.
