“Afternoon Tea Delight”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 February 2012

Went for afternoon tea as a treat, it was exactly as i expected, you got lost of tasty bites and it was all served in a 3 tiered tray by some lovely irish waitresses who were so pleasant and interacted with my children. It is not exactly for young children as its mainly an adult experience, but its lovely and there is a laziness about this delightful tea, a must for tea lovers ! There is a childrens afternoon tea also. This amazing location needs the weather to match, unfortunately the day we were there it was bucketing down so now sightseeing for us, not to worry, its a good excuse to go back again !

“Relaxing weekend”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 February 2012

First and foremost, I wish to point out that I have never posted a review on Tripadvisor before. I felt that our recent trip did warrant it though.
We had a two and a half hour drive from our home to Adare, arriving on Saturday evening. We were staying in the old manor part of the hotel in a deluxe room. Check in was very efficient The concierge took us up to our room which was up a couple of flights of stairs (probably not advisable for anyone with walking difficulty). We got such a pleasant surprise when we saw the room. It was everything we needed after our journey – a real oasis of peace. There were three almost floor to ceiling rooms overlooking the main entrance of the hotel. The décor was in warm soft tones and there were several lovely lamps lit. The room was huge with a lovely comfortable sitting area at an open fire (not functioning!!). Bottled water and ice provided. The bathroom was a lovely size and impeccably clean with all the usual toiletries provided. There was great storage space in the room. Our bed was so comfortable and also huge. When we returned from our short stroll around the grounds of the hotel, the bed had been turned down and chocolates, slippers and robe left for us. Just the little touches expected from a luxury hotel but always a nice surprise.
We ate in a lovely pub in Adare village on our first night and in the hotel restaurant on the second night. To review the restaurant would be just impossible – all I can say is wonderful to everything – setting, staff, service, food, ambiance etc. Breakfast was perfect and catered for everyone’s taste.
A lovely lazy day was spent on our second day starting off with a full body massage which was carried out in the golf-clubhouse as the treatment rooms were under construction. I would have to say that I was disappointed with the treatment room. It was just a standard bedroom with the bed removed and a massage table set up. However, I suppose we had to take into consideration that it was a temporary arrangement. Luckily, the massages we had were part of our package as we would not have been happy to have paid €100 each for a treatment in very basic surroundings. Hopefully when the treatment rooms are renovated, it will be a much better experience. I have to point out that our therapist, Deirdre, was excellent.
A very lazy day was spent in the library for the rest of the afternoon just reading the papers and soaking up the Downton Abbey style ambience of the room – you’d almost expect to see Maggie Smith perched in the corner. I have to give a mention to the lovely waitress Eva who served me my coffees and drinks throughout the afternoon. She is an asset to the hotel with her friendly, professional manner and she arranged a trip for us around the hotel the following morning with Patrick, one of the Concierges. That really was a great experience. Patrick is full of local knowledge and is also very witty. He took us to all corners of the house and gave us an insight into what life was like in the days when the house was lived in by the family.
The boutique in the hotel foyer has a lovely selection of goods and was surprisingly inexpensive. The lady behind the counter was so friendly and I ended up treating myself to a Rachel Allen tea-set!!
On the whole, we hated leaving the hotel. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience and it really was like switching off from the real world for a couple of days and just chilling out. I can’t say enough for the staff who were courteous, friendly and helpful at all times. Definitely, without a doubt, will return again and would highly recommend the hotel to anyone looking for a little bit of luxury and peace for a couple of days!

Room Tip: Treat yourself to a deluxe room - 408 and 409 are great!!

Stayed here for a trip over to Ireland with another couple. The value was incredible, the town is beautiful, and the grounds at Adare Manor were stunning. I would stay here again.

“Can't wait to go back!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

My husband and I stayed at Adare Manor for 2 nights in September 2011. This was the 3rd out of 4 places we stayed in Ireland, during our week-long trip. It was definitely the most memorable and well, magical of all our accomodations. Our room was in the main, original part of the manor, and overlooked the stream and golf course. The bed was nice and comfortable, but the bathroom was amazing! Huge, with a fireplace and large tub. And a window that could open to let the nice, fresh air in.
I'd have to say that the two best things about Adare Manor were the friendliness of the staff and the grounds. We took advantage of the free tour and learned all about the history, architecture, etc. Very interesting and entertaining. The architecture was beautiful and it was fun looking at the gargoyles and other things added to the exterior. Beautiful gardens and ruins on the property--and all very accessible to take pictures of/explore. We even came across an old family pet cemetery under a large thicket of trees.
The staff was very helpful and accommodating! It started with email communication before our trip. I was confirming our reservation and setting up a tee time. The two people I corresponded with were so welcoming and accommodating of our schedule. Once we were checked in, our electrical adapter wasn't working so we called to see if we could borrow one briefly. A staff member promptly brought us a car battery-type device! It was our own converter to use while we stayed there. LOL. We also enjoyed afternoon tea which was a real treat, and breakfast every morning. Hubby enjoyed the golf course and the golf attendants were very welcoming and fun.
If--no, WHEN we return, we plan to stay at Adare exclusively. As others have said, it is a great "base camp" to explore the area. And the village of Adare is very charming. Go, you won't regret it!

“Great place in a great place”

We stayed at the villas on the Manor and had a very comfortable stay. The staff we encountered were top notch. The location of the Manor is great for seeing the sights around southern Ireland. The town itself was is a great place to stroll through. The people in the community were very freindly and accomodating. We went to the local pub and were treated to many rounds and werent allowed to reciprocate.
