“Beautiful home and beautiful gardens and beautiful people.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 November 2011

It felt like staying with family because of the hospitality of the hosts, Siobhan and Nigel. We enjoyed the view of the harbour from our room and the very comfortable big bed. The food was excellent as well. We loved Kinsale and are still missing our time there. Nigel was very helpful when we enquired about visiting Cork city. The Park and Ride was brilliant. If we return to Ireland, which I am sure we will, we will be staying at Harbour Hill Farm for sure.

Room Tip: Because my husband is 6'4" we had to make sure the bed was long enough for him to be comfor...

“Very nice, comfortable B&B”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 October 2011

Harbour Hill Farm is on the outskirts of Kinsale, not in the middle town. Our room had a spectacular view of the water and was very comfortable. It didn’t feel (or smell) like we were staying on a farm, it just felt like a very nice house with a stunning garden. Nigel and Siobhan were fun to talk to and very gracious hosts, with good tips of where to go and what to do. Wish we could have stayed longer.

“Good B&B, working farm”

Lovely setting. Looks out to the bay & ocean from front rooms & view of farmland at rear of home. Our hosts Siobahn (Shivonne) & Nigel were very gracious as they welcomed us with genuine warmth. They have 3 children & run a working farm....200 head of dairy cows & 80,000 chickens, which are kept quite a bit away from the house. Quite a handful for the average inn keeper!!
Great location, only a mile or so from Kinsale Town, Charle Fort, Cobh(Cove-5 min. ferry trip from town).
Breakfast was usually prepared by Nigel who does an excellent job at cooking flavorful homemade breakfast food.
NEGATIVES:
We were there mid-Sept & weather was rather cool. Heat in the house was not on & it was rather chilly...had to ask for extra blankets. Plus because of lack of heat in the room, our clothes from the "misty" weather had no chance of drying.
No shower amenities were offered, so bring your own shampoos & washcloths, which seem to not exist in a lot of the b&b's in Ireland.
CASH ONLY.....bummer when your traveling international.

Room Tip: all the rooms have a view but the main front room has the best...bay view.

Thank you for your review, we are glad you enjoyed your stay at Harbour Hill Farm.

I do feel however I have to address a few of your comments, firstly, we advertise as accepting credit cards/prepaid vouchers, paying by cash is optional and not obligitary.

As we are a four star bed and breakfast all rooms have hand soap, shower gel and shampoo dispensers. On hygiene grounds we do not supply wash-cloths.

In relation to clothes drying I cannot do anything about the weather and clothes getting wet, but bedrooms are for sleeping and not drying clothes as this can make the room very damp.

“Very Nice B&B”

Very nice B&B, hostess was friendly, breakfast was good, room was good size and nicely furnished. My husbands only complaint was the bed was a little short for him.

“Great location, great stay!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 August 2011

We were very happy with our decision to stay here for two nights while visiting the beautiful town of Kinsale and playing Old Head golf course. This B&B has a fabulous view and Siobahn is a real dynamo who offers great suggestions and is an excellent hostess. Nigel prepared a very good breakfast to prepare us for our days. Stay here if you want lovely rooms, super location and friendly service. You won't go wrong.
