“Great Hospitality!”

My family of 5 and I stayed in three of the rooms at Cloisters in August of 2011. We loved our stay here. Our hosts, Orla and Aileen were wonderful and gave us true and honest restaurant choices in town, which we also enjoyed. The rooms are on the smaller size, but very clean and cozy. Parking is a bit tricky, around the corner in a church parking lot, but we never had difficulties finding a spot, and its a very short walk to the B&B. Breakfasts were wonderful, my family ended up trying most of the menu by the end of our stay and loved it all. We would all definitely recommend Cloisters for your stay in Kinsale.

“Very small but comfortable rooms”

The Cloisters was a very nice B & B and the hosts were especially helpful and hospitable. Our room was very small, but we were aware of its size in advance. It was very well decorated and very comfortable. The parking was a challenge, especially on Sunday, since they used the parking lot for the Church across the street. One could easily get parked in for an hour or two on Saturday evening or Sunday morning. The breakfast was one of the best we had in Ireland-OH, that blood sausage was soooooo good! Note, they do not turn on the hot water pump until 7AM, so be aware.

“Great Stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 November 2011

Stayed at Cloister B&B with my husband. We run a B&B ourselves so were very careful we made a good decision about which B&B we picked. We were not disappointed. Lovely clean rooms, welcoming hosts and good advice about what to do and where to eat. The bed was so comfortable. It was a real treat to get our breakfast handed to us for a change. Great directions and lots of parking to the rear of the accommodation.

“Felt like staying with family”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 October 2011

It was a bit frantic arriving to the Cloisters B&B as Kinsale is a maze of small twisty roads that almost made my Garmin GPS cry. But like the pot gold at the end of the rainbow so lies the Cloisters. From the outside the place is very nondescript and you might just walk by it if you were randomly trying to find a place to stay. But thanks to Trip Advisor, I knew the Cloister had and good reputation. Orla and Aileen are lovely. They made us feel very welcome and were a wealth of great ideas.

I had booked the single room. I naturally had a single bed which in hindsight I would have been better off booking a double room and paying extra because I have become accustomed to sleeping in king sized beds over the year. Having said that, the bed was very comfortable for its small size. The bathroom was outstanding. Nice strong hot water and tastefully decorated throughout.

The real star of the stay was the breakfast. Yummy is all I can say. I am going to miss the full Irish with the delicious scones and coffee. Everyone felt really good after their hearty breakfast and ready to face the walks we did. Orla and Aileen also gave us the best tip of the entire vacation. If you happen to be in Kinsale on a Monday or Tuesday night, you can find no better place for traditional Irish music than the people playing and singing in Daltons bar. This is no joke. The men and women in here have been entertaining themselves and the Dalton patrons for a long long time. Some of the musician had to be in their eighties and sang and played as enthusiastically as a 21 year rock star. We were in county Clare (Epicenter for traditional Irish music) later in our Irish holiday and saw nothing to equally our time in Daltons Bar. Really a highlight of our trip.
