Let us start off by saying that the breakfast was awesome, and the best of the five places we stayed during our recent trip. In addition to fresh continental fare, there was a choice of hot full breakfasts including an Irish breakfast. Do not miss the porridge. The Chart House B&B has a great location in the quaint town of Kinsale, just down the street from Kinsale Harbor . The rooms were nicely appointed and very clean including an in room bathroom . This coastal town is located in a beautiful area of southwest Ireland within driving of several sightseeing attractions. Bill and Mary O'Connor were extremely friendly and helpful taking the time to give us suggestions and driving directions. We would definitely stay there a again.

We arrived without reservation but were able to have our choice of 2 very nice rooms at a very reasonable price. We took smaller one in the back and it proved very nice and quite. The room was spotless, the bath was well appointed and everything worked except the TV remote which was just a well as all I want to know was the weather forecast!!

Breakfast the next morning was to our liking and they were able to fill our request for some non-Irish (American) food items.

It is very convenient to downtown without having to deal with the night life noise issues. We were able to park right in front of the B&B so the fact that they have no off street parking did not become an issue.

Good place to stay in Kinsale

We found staff unobtrusive but very helpful when required. Local knowledge and advice given about restaurants etc was valuable - exactly what we needed. The Georgian decor was quite a treat without being too over-powering. Proximity to town was appreciated for convenience and Kinsale's harbour setting was very picturesque. Breakfast was a very convivial affair with every guest sitting at the one table - like a country kitchen. Even the road works across the street (probably finished by now) did not detract from a thoroughly enjoyable experience.

rooms are not like pictured on their web site. We requested the blue room and it was cluttered with mismatched tables, chairs and beds.
The signs posted around the room were not what you would expect of a 3 star B&B
Odd that you would have to decide what you want for breakfast upon arrival.
