“the best of Kinsale”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 September 2011

We had a wonderful time at Kilcaw house in Kinsale. The beautiful and quiet country setting was just the place away from the hustle of town yet just minutes away. Christina and her staff were most accomodating and warm. Top of my full Irish breakfast list for all of Ireland as well. We will most certainly stay at Kilcaw when we return to Kinsale. Thanks to Christina and staff. Paul Mooney

“Lovely stay in Kinsale”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 July 2011

This B&B is immaculately clean and lovely. The rooms are basic but comfortable. Christina and her family are lovely hosts. It is definitely not walking distance into the main part of town, but parking in town wasn't hard to find. In addition, on multiple occassions Christina and her family offered to drive us in to town. Breakfast was just ok, but the coffee was great! It is a very good value for lovely accommodations.

“A Great B & B witha delighhtful host in Christina”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 June 2011

We picked Kilcaw out after passing it on our way into Kinsale. This is an excellent B & B and very comfortable and welcoming. It was one of the best we stayed in of 5 B & B's we visited in Ireland. Happy to recommend to fellow travellers.

“An excellent home base; filled with hospitality, good advice and genuine warmth”

I stayed at Kilcaw House for four nights with my travel partner, and we have nothing but good things to say about the place! Christine, the proprietor, is supremely attentive to the needs of her guests and always has good advice. The other staff are friendly and efficient; they all do a fine job of making their guests feel at home.

The facilities are well-kept, the house is of modern construction and the rooms are painted in cheerful colors. Our rooms were tidied daily, towels replaced, beds made up, and the in-room tea and coffee facilities were replenished. This level of service is lacking even at many hotels!

Compared to most B&Bs in Kinsale, even without the magnificent staff, Kilcaw House is an excellent value!

One note of caution: as the guesthouse is about 1.5km from town along a narrow road, this guesthouse may be inconvenient for those who lack their own transportation. It's theoretically possible to walk along the road, but there is no shoulder for part of the route and it might be a bit dangerous to do so.

“Absolutely lovely home and a wonderful host family”

This was our favorite B&B by far on our Ireland trip (trip was 8 nights long and we stayed in 4 places). The room was comfortable and clean. The host family was AMAZING. Our hostess made suggestions to us for things to do and for places to eat (and called to reserve a spot). The breakfast was delicious as well. The house is about 1 mile outside of Kinsale but that was perfect for us. I don't think you would walk to the town due to the windy roads but parking was not a problem (at the hosue or in town). We would return in a second.
