“Lovely Hotel,Great location and Great staff!”

A friend and I completed a charity cycle through Ireland in August 2011 in aid of Enable Ireland. We would like to thank the Owner/Management for their kindness and generosity in supporting us and providing us with a complimentary twin room during our stay in Clonakilty! Well Clonakilty is certainly one of the most beautiful little towns in Ireland and O'Donovan's Hotel is in a prime location within,a great base to explore the beautiful west cork region! The hotel was great, the room was very well presented, spacious and comfortable. Lovely bath and shower! We also had a little balcony which was a nice touch I thought. Breakfeast here was really good. The staff at this hotel were brilliant, they really do make your stay as comfortable as possible! We had a lovely stay here and would highly recommend this hotel!

What a find, a wonderful hotel at a great price( i know a unusual in Ireland). Old world charm with all the modern touches you could need.Checked in after a long day and was greeted with a warm genuine welcome. The rooms are spacious and spotless. Refreshed we retired to the bar for a drink and dinner. Great service at a great price. Could go on forever but will finish and say if your in the area YOU HAVE TO STAY HERE, YOU WILL NOT FIND BETTER.

You won't find better. We (Friends and I) were fishing all day in Union Hall, not far away. We booked to stay in O'Donavan's before our departure. Simply put, the best decision we made. Great rooms, (the kind of shower you need after a long day at sea or the road, good blast of water on the neck). I cannot say enough about the place. Fabulous Owners, and staff, very welcoming, great parking, clean rooms, crackin' breakfast, and great advice on local attractions. Will defintitely be back, for local music. Price? You won't get a better offer anywhere. Very impressed. if there was an 11 out of 10 option on this site, O'Donovan's should be the one to receive it!! Live long, life is short. Go.

K/Rgds,
Tipperary Fishermen and FisherLady. :)

“Pleasantly surprised!”

In the beginning, I was slightly apprehensive about staying in O'Donovan's because of the cheap price. I was really happy we chose to stay here though. It's a lovely hotel in a perfect location. Also, the breakfast was included in our stay and it was excellent.
The hotel provides a small car park free of charge which was located at the rear. The rooms were really nice, kind of old fashioned but really homely and comfortable. The staff were extremely helpful and very courteous. The only draw back was that the main street in Clonakilty is located right outside so it can get quite noisy late into the night depending on where your room is located.
While this is not desired at night time, it's a real advantage during the day because all the nice restaurants, pubs and shops are within walking distance. De Barra's pub is located just down the street.
All in all, it was a great place to stay... I would recommend asking for a room to the rear of the hotel though, especially if you are staying for a few nights.

Room Tip: Recommend room that doesn't face the main street
