My self and my boyfriend stayed here for my Birthday just gone.
Location
The location is gorgeous you are right on the beach, and at night time if you get a clear night and a full moon like we were lucky to have it is so Romantic to sit on the swings out in the decking area and over look the beautiful lights of Howth and the reflection on the sea.
Unfortunatly after informing that it was a special weekend on arrival we were very dissapointed. Location wise it is great for anyone like myself who just wanted to getaway. But I would not go again without a car, train station is about 30 min walk and thats if your not tired!
Rooms
We had booked a Excutive Suite, but there IS NOTHING EXCUTIVE about the room its a standard Family room, A double bed and a single bed, so firstly this is not even under the right catagory of room types. The room smelt of feces and damp, when I went to reception I was shown a choice of three rooms, too the same(with out the smell) and one with what we booked, a double bed with a sofa.
Overall
The whole place is decorated in very old fashion designs but its not the nice kind of old style it just makes the place look old, outdated and unpleasant.
The night staff where very helpful, Harish thank you for the lovely Food, even after dinner was finished.
It was an enjoyable time, but that really was my company and the occasion to be honest.
Cost
The prices are absolutly outragous though, Breakfast per person is €10 and room service is €5 again per person, Considering I have stayed in the Hiton, Raddison and Carlton and have had Room Service Breakfast for the both of us and it cost €15 for both of us, that's not only half the price, but nearly 3 times the food you get, but really the only good thing is the location.
Dinner Prices are fairly reasonable, considering the food is so good you won't leave a crumb even if your not sure you can phically eat another bite.
BIG TIP FOR ANYONE who wants to stay here, take a trip and check out the rooms firstly if yor wanting a special time, and contact reception in advance and ask for anything you may need, Karen was a great help with my question.

Hello. Thank you for your details and descriptive review. I am so happy that you enjoyed the romantic and relaxing setting on our outdoor sun terrace which overlooks those amazing views. Apologies that you had to walk to our hotel from the train station, but as stated on our website etc, we are more than happy to collect you at the train station or airport so next time, if you are visiting our hotel, just give us a quick call or an email and we will organise your courtesy collection and drop off at the train station to save the walk. We offer this to all of our guests. I am so sorry that you were unhappy with your room choices and I hope the Front Desk were able to assist in finding you a more suitable room for your requirements so you could enjoy the remainder of your stay with us. Regarding your breakfast and room service. These prices are extremely competitive with prices in other irish hotels and restaurants as the average price for full irish breakfast is €10 and we offer room only rates and bed and breakfats rates to offer the option of purchasing this for guests. Likewise, €5 per person room service is also standard and again, is optional. I will pass these comments onto our management team for discussion. I have passed on your comments regarding your evening meal to our head chef. Thank you and I am glad you enjoyed your meal. I have also passed on your compliments to Harish. Again, thank you once again for all of your helpful and informative feedback and we hope to see you again at the Waterside. Aoife
