Very belated praise and thanks to Dudley Morgan for his most warm welcome during my 2-night stay at the House of Four Angels in September 2008. The precise driving directions Dudley provided were just what this finicky traveller needed - no risk of missing the place! While the old road up from the main road is a bit rough, and the driveway to the house VERY steep, the view when you get out of the car makes it worth it!
The kettle was on, as promised, and I was greeted not only by Dudley but also by Hunter, Ridder, Zoe and Hamish. Having been away from home for over a week and feeling rather deprived of feline company, the cats more than made up for it with their inquisitive affection.
Dudley's typed directions for a driving tour of the Dingle Peninsula provided the opportunity to visit some truly 'off the beaten track' gems. My first stop was Minard Castle - a solitary ruin standing majectically by the sea. And not another tourist - and no tour buses - in sight. As I approached the castle my reaction was "WOW". And the sight-seeing suggestions on the rest of the itinerary were just as impressive.
Dudley's breakfast was excellent - another vote for the French toast - and his conversation and recommendations for things to do or places to eat were spot on.
I cannot praise the place highly enough, and only hope that I wll get back to Ireland soon and visit Inch again.
