“brilliant holiday”

after reading the last review i was a bit apprehensive about heading to the hotel but i found it absolutely delightful. The staff were very accomdationg and the room was huge. i did eat in the bar both nights and the only complaint i have is that there was too much on the plate i just couldnt finish it. we used the hotel as our base and went to local attractions the best being the seal santuary. both kids and i loved the holiday and will be booking again in the very near future. a must hotel if you are looking for a base outside of town that is comfortable and homely without breaking the bank.

Room Tip: room 209 has excellent wifi coverage

“Not for everybody”

there are good and bad points to this hotel, unfortunately for us it was bad and we left early and came home. Travelled for the October Bank holiday with 7 yr old and there was nothing on for kids. I found the hotel cold, beds hard, and tv "multi channel" non existant, lights in room didn't work, shower only lasted 3 mins then it stopped. The bar was freezing and the TV in the bar had football on constantly, saw several bored looking kids hanging around, surely it would have been better to put on kids movies and occupy them and then the parents would relax and maybe stick around ?

I am searching hard to find something good to say about the hotel, I suppose plenty of free parking, the hotel is cheap to stay in, a good base I suppose if you just want somewhere to rest your head. The bar food was good. However (and this doesn't apply only to this hotel, but unfortunately Ireland in general) it was not good value for money, eating out is too expensive and €2.50 for a cup of coffee is too much - it was only half a mug.

Overall I would rate this as a 2 star, while the beds were clean, the duvet covers were old and ripped, the towels in the bathroom, very worn and smelled of chips.

Room Tip: Rooms to the front of the hotel look out on the car park, you could park your car under your window.

“no,no,no!”

we arrived at the hotel at 4pm,it was locked up! when it was opened,we were informed that we were the only guests staying that night, this was obvious by the very coldness of the reception, and the unwelcoming benches(?),piled up inside.so,you,d think that we would be given the best room, being the only ones..no,ours was looking over the dustbins..the room itself was very warm, lovely.outdated though, large stains on the dressing table, only 3 channels working on the tv.1 of the bedside lamps didnt work, the telephone didnt work, the 2nd day the shower just stopped after 5mins..the 2nd night we ordered dinner in the hotel.i ordered 3 meals,2 arrived..my husband had finished his when mine finally arrived.music was being played..the song Alice, who the f..k is alice came on,complete with the f..k,great language for my 5 year old son,and the other children present, to hear. the bar(and at breakfast too), where we ate,was heated by a very small electric room heater, needless to say,i couldnt wait to finish my food as i was freezing, and get back to the room.we were there for 2 nights,im so glad to be home!

Room Tip: dont know if there are any!

“So warm & Welcoming”

My friend and I, both in our 60's arrived on a wet and blustery Wednesday evening.Having driven from Dublin we were tired and hungry. We received a very warm welcome from the young man on Reception. Our bed room was warm and comfortable with an extra blanket left on the bottom of the bed. We ate in the bar on both nights and found the food excellent. Also the breakfast was freshly cooked so a short delay in serving was well worth it. . All the staff were friendly and helpful. Our stay was short but we will certainlybe back

“Would go back - excellent value”

My wife and I stayed here on 22nd and 23rd August. After reading some reviews here, I was sceptical of the visit - need not have been. It was a few miles outside Dingle (as advertised) and I was very satisfied with the stay. The loaction itself is very quite as it stands on its own in the countryside. The room was clean and spacious and the bed was comfortable. There were families here so was a bit noisy in the mornings if you want a lie in. For what we paid it was excellent value for money. We did not eat here so cannot comment on food. Would definetly go back if were visiting Dingle again.
