“Noisy and not proffesional”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 December 2011

BEWARE Everyone.....!!!
if you have room by the pool, rooms --01-02-03-04 ...you will not be able to sleep night time becouse of staff will be working --cleaning --on the upper floor from you...( thats lobby area) and they are really loud and noisy...
Also when i was back to my room next day they SAID !!!!!THEY HAD CHANGED MY ROOM WITHOUT ANY NOTICE ...AND MANAGEMENT OF THE HOTEL DID NOT EVEN APOLOGISE FOR THAT.......... LACK OF PROFFESSINALISM..LACK OF RESPECT TO THE GUESTS--maybe they really do not care at all.....

“Just okay”

The hotel is average, however, the staff does not speak much english and not very friendly. The first room was probably in the worst location and had a shower with mold and not very functional; moved to another room after looking at other boutique hotels ( all have small bathrooms) on the same comparables in the historic area. The breakfast was average, no other meals available. The location was good, close to all historic sights in the area.
Would not recommend.

“Argos not a 4* boutique hotel”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 October 2011

Just spent a week in the Argos and did not enjoy this hotel, in it's day it may have been able to claim 'boutique' status but not now, no bar, you could only get a bottle of beer or glass of wine from a fridge in the 'dining room', no restaurant to speak of either, the pool is in a state of decay as is the hotel in general and the biggest let down were the staff who appeared indifferent to guests at best. They did not make us feel welcome at all. Overall a big dissapointment. It's location was the one plus as the old city is beautiful, lots of cool cafe bars and excellent places to eat; all the locals we met (outside of the Argos)were warm, friendly and really welcoming. We would recomend the Menu Corner and Secret Garden in particular, there is another excellent restaurant opposite the Secret Garden owned by the Sirri family that is stunning with excellent food. Sit outside the Antique cafe and watch the world go by while enjoying a glass of wine or cup of chay.

Room Tip: for a real boutique hotel go to the Aspen, Alalpas or the Mediterra Art hotels nearby

“I would not recommend”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 August 2011

Stayed here 26th July for 11 nights as a family with 2 teenagers.
First night, no room for us so put us in Suite on top floor, which was lovely but due to language issues we failed to realise that it was for just one night. Then had to pack to move to a room on the ground floor. Must have been the noisiest hotel room in the world, as it’s right on the cobbled street level next to the bins. The shower leaked, no hot water (I think this is a ground floor thing in this hotel) but at least the aircon worked. But the bed! So uncomfortable (and we’re not particularly fussy), that it hurt. So we moved. Top floor now. Aircon couldn’t cope with the heat in the room, shower leaked again. Beds painful! Moved again. 1st floor, aircon worked, bed bearable.
In all rooms some of the lights didn’t work and the cupboard door knobs would fall off.
Pool was scruffy but ok. 2m deep all the way across so difficult to play any games or relax easily.
Breakfast was ok – typical Turkish.
Hotel staff were accommodating but I wouldn’t say friendly.
So we have quite a rounded view of this hotel having spent time in 5 rooms between us. Note, the boy’s room had no hot water and the bed was also terrible.
I wouldn’t go back and wouldn’t recommend. Spend an extra few quid and go to a proper hotel! Antalya is lovely though and I would recommend the 6hr boat trip (drinks on board are v expensive though). The white water rafting is good fun.

Room Tip: Dont stay here

“Budget hotel - good points outweighed the bad ones!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 August 2011

We spent 2 weeks at the Argos. Room was basic, but we were on a budget holiday, so weren't expecting anything else. Our room was on the ground floor under the restaurant, which could be quite noisy with chairs scraping the floor in the mornings, however, it got us out of bed! There was no hot water on our first night, but after complaining at reception, the issue was resolved, and we didn't have any problems for the rest of the holiday. Breakfast was not great, so we went to the supermarket, just behind the clock tower, and bought cornflakes and milk, which we kept in our fridge. They didn't mind you bringing your own food and drink into the hotel, which was a plus in our books. Air con in rooms was free, the safe was mobile! so we just kept valuables locked inside our suitcase. Pool was very quiet, so we tended to go out most days. Mermerli Beach is beautiful, and cost 5TL each to access, (only 5 mins walk from hotel), and as long as you are there about 10am, you can get a good spot, as it can get quite crowded. We booked a 6 hr boat trip at the harbour on a boat called baba nuri, which was great, and would highly recommend this. Termessos is a fabulous sight, breath-taking views, and the Duden waterfalls were beautiful too, though we went on a Sunday, and there were too many people. We met some people afterwards who went during the week, which was less crowded. The aqua park was really good fun... we just got on the local bus, which cost us 2.5TL each (about £1) We didnt have to wait too long to go on the slides, and had a really enjoyable day out. Some Turkish guys were playing volleyball, in a small pool, away from the main area, and we joined in, and spent a couple of hrs with them.
Antalya is such a large city, and the old town is stunning, and the Argos hotel is central to everything. All in all, a great budget holiday.
