We spent 2 weeks at the Argos. Room was basic, but we were on a budget holiday, so weren't expecting anything else. Our room was on the ground floor under the restaurant, which could be quite noisy with chairs scraping the floor in the mornings, however, it got us out of bed! There was no hot water on our first night, but after complaining at reception, the issue was resolved, and we didn't have any problems for the rest of the holiday. Breakfast was not great, so we went to the supermarket, just behind the clock tower, and bought cornflakes and milk, which we kept in our fridge. They didn't mind you bringing your own food and drink into the hotel, which was a plus in our books. Air con in rooms was free, the safe was mobile! so we just kept valuables locked inside our suitcase. Pool was very quiet, so we tended to go out most days. Mermerli Beach is beautiful, and cost 5TL each to access, (only 5 mins walk from hotel), and as long as you are there about 10am, you can get a good spot, as it can get quite crowded. We booked a 6 hr boat trip at the harbour on a boat called baba nuri, which was great, and would highly recommend this. Termessos is a fabulous sight, breath-taking views, and the Duden waterfalls were beautiful too, though we went on a Sunday, and there were too many people. We met some people afterwards who went during the week, which was less crowded. The aqua park was really good fun... we just got on the local bus, which cost us 2.5TL each (about £1) We didnt have to wait too long to go on the slides, and had a really enjoyable day out. Some Turkish guys were playing volleyball, in a small pool, away from the main area, and we joined in, and spent a couple of hrs with them.
Antalya is such a large city, and the old town is stunning, and the Argos hotel is central to everything. All in all, a great budget holiday.
