“Was dreading after reading reviews but made start of lovely holiday...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 August 2010

I was so worried when my partner booked 2 family rooms here after reading the reviews and was SO pleasantly surprised.
We had two large spacious family rooms. Lovely beds. Room for two travel cots ( we were travelling with 6 month old twins, a two year old, a 7 year old and a 77 year old!), set of bunk beds in each room and all for £100. Really clean, spacious and comfortable. Can't believe people were moaning about the grey buildings- its a motel for god's sake, I don't know what some people expect ! Yes its quirky but I personally prefer quirky to uniformed travelodges that all look and feel the same.We got there late at night and the kids were tired and miserable. We didn't want to drag everone to the bar for food and they bought us the most delicious proper ham sandwiches and plate of chips to our room.We had a bed picnic!
Can't comment on the breakfast, we left early to catch ferry, but would definately return.

“The Holland Inn Fab Food Great Entertainment Comfortable room”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 July 2010

My partner and I stayed at this hotel last weekend, we thoroughly enjoyed it. The Carvery was the best we have ever had, our room was spacious, clean and having a seperate loo i could spend as much time as i wanted to hog the bathroom.
There was live entertainment in the bar Saturaday evening which was great. The staff were very friendly, there was always someone on hand to welcome us and say goodbye. We visited Plymouth Barbican and The Hoe which was only a 15min drive, Sunday my partner grabbed a quick game of golf at St Mellion which was just up the road. Can't wait go there again.

“A Lovely Place To Stay!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 June 2010

I was worried after reading some of the peoples comments on here, but they really must have tehe wrong place, and i mean that! for a start the last person said they grabbed a sandwich from esso, well, there is no esso garage there, so maybe they are confusing it for another pub under the same name! anyway on to my stay, the bar staff were very nice, really friendly! we were given a warm welcome on arrival by Jane, who kept us in the know about the goings on during our stay! I booked the trip for me and my girlfriend for 3 nights over bank holiday weekend! and we both really enjoyed our stay! the food was the best thing about the place, lots to choose from at a good price! check out there carvery, LUSH! we spend our day first off have breakfast, which was one of the best full english breakfasts iv ever had! then me and my girlfriend would set off into corwall or plymouth during the day, then back to the pub for evening drinks, where we met Tom, youg lad but very friendly, and he would tell us the best places to go to in plymouth! the rooms were lovely and clean, and we both agreed we had a goods night sleep every night we stayed there! when the suns out the best thing is, there beer garden is beautiful, with a lovely fish pond. will be returning!

5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 June 2010

My hustband and I went there with my sister and her husband we booked first then read the reviews and was not lookinjg forward to going but we went and to our surprise the staff especially fiona and jane were very friendly. The food was excellant and the rooms were very clean and spacious Excellant value for money. Breakfast was all you could eat full english never seen so much food. Would definately return. These bad reviews must have stayed in a different hotel and got it mixed up with the Holland Inn. Good on you Jane and Fiona keep up the good work

“fantastic place to get away”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 February 2010

stayed here a couple weeks ago and it was great, greeted at reception with a warm welcome by manager jane, and went straight for the bar where we were served by tom, nice lad and very friendly. good prices on beer and wine, traditional pub food but the best part is the carvery, its lovely. kids could play in the family area with play house and bouncy castle, crazy golf looked fun but rain kept us from playing. rooms are going through refurbishment at the moment and a log cabin was in process of being built, i reccommend this place if you are a family or business man. room was nice, kind of old but thats all being changed and modernised at the moment. if you go dont miss out o the carvery. close to plymouth town center took us about 10 minutes in a taxi but was expensive so i recommend driving. saltash town was dissappointing, not much to do but plymouth has a decent sized shopping mall which the wife loved haha. KIDS HAD A GREAT TIME AND want to go back, i will return in the summer to see the new modern holland inn
