My husband, myself and our border collie Cocoa stayed in the Warren for the new year and as always the hospitality was superb. This was our 3rd stay at this b&b but the 1st time in the Warren and it will not be our last. As usual Alan & Kate our exceptional hosts and the brekkie is second to none and nothing is too much trouble for them. They deserve all round 5 stars.

Our 2 night stay to celebrate New year 2012 with friends was made all the more enjoyable by our hosts and the fantastic accommodation. Kate and Alan were very welcoming and managed a perfect balance of warm friendly hosting and professional management of the B&B that made our visit to the area enjoyable and easy going.
The rooms were excellent, as was the beakfast. Local knowledge helped us to find somewhere to eat on a busy new years eve, and Kate and Alan were helpful in advising us on walking routes in the area.
Tea and Coffee with cakes on our arrival from Kate was very kind and we all liked the very well behaved and charming dog. We will definitely visit again.

Our two night stay as a family of five(2 adults 2 children & a small dog) between Christmas & New Year was our first visit to Sheriff Lodge & it won't be our last. Kate made us feel very welcome, the breakfast choice and quality was exceptional, the accomodation spotless, spacious and homely.

This was our second visit to the Sheriff Lodge and was equally as good as the first. The location for Matlock and Peak District, makes Sheriff Lodge an ideal Bed and Breakfast base to explore the beautiful country side.

As the owner of a well behaved dog this location is ideal, as the Warren is available for visitors with a dog. The accomodation allows you access to and from the rooms without disturbing anyone, if the late night walk is needed by the dog.
Having visited in the winter months on both occasions, the rooms are very cosy and warm after a day out in the country. The equipment level in the rooms is also good, with Sky TV, DVD and videos to watch from a selection available in the room.
If a long day of visiting nearby towns or an escape to the open countryside is planned, you could not start the day any better than treating yourself to the wonderful breakfast, made to your choice. If freshly baked bread is your weakness, try some of Alan's, freshly prepared that morning, its delicious.
