“An excellent village Inn with 1st class service”

Having just stayed for a night here we came away knowing that we would visit again and definately reccomend The Miners Arms to our friends. The rooms are all well looked after and clean to a high standard. Brand new bed linnen, towels and toiletries are all provided. We ate in the bar area of the pub because we were talking to a couple of locals but the menu is the same throughout and the food and service were superb without exception. This little gem is definately worth a visit.

“Poor value for money, room was shabby with stains/mould in evidence”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 April 2010

Room was shabby, verging on dirty, with stains on bedding and carpet, mould in the bathroom, a plug hole that was literally black and a shower with a mind of its own. The location is good but felt that £85 was charging "top dollar" and certainly did not represent value for money especially as cleanliness is a basic requirement. Very disappointing. Could not recommend to anyone.
Breakfast was OK but the toast was burnt.

5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 June 2009

Visited Eyam with a party of six staying for 4 nights in a local cottage. visited the Miners Arms on the first night but was too late (8.00pm Mon) for food. Ate there for the other 3 nights and every meal was of very good quality particuarly the veg. Service was also very good. Excellent staff and food. 10/10

“a proper pub”

This is a lovely pub in a the sleepy little village of Eyam. Both the Pub and village are steeped in history which makes for an interesting and atmospheric stay. We only stayed one night but wish it could have been longer, as it was truly a relaxing break. The rooms was lovely and clean and the breakfast was delicious. The meals served in the pub were also delicious and there was plenty of choice.

“superb food, excellent atmosphere”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 July 2007

This is not a hotel, it is a pub with rooms, we found it in the AA 2007 Pub Guide.
We paid £85 for a double room (actually it was a triple, included a single bed as well) on a saturday night. I thought that this was a bit on the steep side for what you get. However, the room was very clean as was the bedding. The room could do with the decor updating as it is a bit shabby. The bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was clean and tidy but a bit dated. No toiletries supplied but plenty of hot water and clean towels.
We paid about £25 each for the evening meal and it was truly superb. An excellent choice available and very well cooked and presented. We had garlic mushrooms with stilton, a smoked salmon tartlet followed by tuna steak and a rack of lamb. For dessert profiteroles and a wonderful dish called chocolate junkyard. The food and service could not be faulted.
The atmosphere in the pub was excellent with plenty of real ales.
Breakfast the next morning was also superb, limited choice but freshly cooked full english breakfast or variant only. Cereals and toast and juice provided.
Overall an excellent visit
