The proprietors made us feel welcome, knew the area and were extremely helpful.The breakfast was very nice and set us up for a days walking. The accomodation was comfortable and a pleasure to return to for a good nights sleep.

Maybe we expected more from the reviews we saw here, but we got a lukewarm reception and I seriously don't recall the owners being that helpful. Maybe we gave an aura of not needing any help but we did feel quite invisible during our stay here.

They weren't unfriendly, but the only time I remember being asked about our stay here was when we were leaving. The location is convenient if you are taking the train as it is less than 5 mins away from Pioneer House. The rates are reasonable and the breakfast is alright. The rooms are fine with hot water, tv, and a big dresser.

Judging from the reviews here and from how the other room's guests loved the place, it seems like the owners are really great. We just didn't get the same treatment. Maybe the reason lies with the fact that we cancelled 1 night's booking with them.
So I'm still looking for a B&B in the peak district that has a reasonable room rate with great service.

A mere stone's throw away from Bamford railway station, this is an excellent, friendly and quiet establishment. The en-suite rooms are very neat and tidy, and one might find an antique here or there. Options for breakfast include cereal, toast, fruit and full English, and your tea and coffee is made for you by the hosts. The breakfast table is also a large round one at which everyone can sit, so you can chat to the other guests. There is a great wealth of information available on the Peak District, with maps, guide books and history books at your disposal. Sheep graze in the adjacent fields and there is a good walk in every direction from this house.

Mr and Mrs Treacher deserve full credit for their hospitality. I would definitely stay here again.

My partner and I stayed in room 1, which is beautifully decorated and has the added bonus on a massive free-standing bath in the large en-suite bathroom. We were impressed by the level of care that had obviously gone into the room, all of the décor was complementary to the style of the house and there were many little extras that added to the stay - we especially liked the dressing table which contained several useful items... Breakfast was great, and our hosts were incredibly friendly and welcoming, and very knowledgeable about the local area and walks. Another massive bonus for us was that the b&b is literally 5 minutes walk away from the train station, and in a great area for walking. We're already planning our next stay!
