“Thoroughly enjoyable”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 October 2010

What a fantastic stay. Quaint, Quiet, Clean... Sandra and Mike make you feel very welcome and are very knowledgeable and helpful about the local area. The views are fantastic from the conservatory, making a misty morning feel perfect (the breakfast which Sandra and Mike provide is also spot on - my eyes lit up when I saw the bowl of fruit salad on the side!). We would definately recommend Cannon Croft to family and friends, and endeavour to revisit the next time we are in the area. Thank you for making our stay so enjoyable and relaxing. Andy and Sian.

“Lovely spot for visiting the Peaks”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 October 2010

Very comfortable & extremely friendly B&B. Lovely setting with delightful view from the cosy conservatory. Sandra & Mike were very charming & helpful hosts. Everything was spotless & the breakfast very enjoyable. Short walk to Hathersage village with a range of good eating places (with the help of thoughtfully provided torch!). Excellent centre for visiting the northern Peak District.

“A hidden Gem”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 May 2010

We recently stayed at the Cannoncroft for six nights. Sandra and Mike made us most welcome. Having breakfast in the conservatory was a delight, looking out over a beautiful garden and the surrounding countryside .The breakfasts were delicious, varied and plentiful. We made good use of the fridge in the di ning room to cool our wine - a glass on our return from walking or before going out for a meal. We would recommend Sangams Balti Restaurant (dont be put off by its exterior appearance) the food was delicious as it was in the Scotsmans Pack Inn. Sandra and Mike were great hosts and nothing was too much trouble for them. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Cannoncroft and would not hesitate to recommend it to any of our friends

“A fabulous place to say”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 April 2010

My partner and I really enjoyed our stay here. We were welcomed straight away on arrival in a warm and friendly way, and shown through an immaculate little B&B into our room, which was well-appointed and had a lovely view. We were give an amazing list of breakfast choices, including vegetarian. Breakfast itself the next day lived up to our expectations, with a beautiful view from the conservatory to boot. Hathersage is a good place to stay - good pubs, cafes and restaurant, and outdoors shops too. You can easily walk from Cannon Croft, either a nice wander round the village and the church, or a waterside stroll to Grindleford, or a more ambitious walk over open, brooding, countryside with hills, moors, and woods. In all, couldn't hope for more from a stay. Highly recommended.

“A very comfortable B&B with great hosts and excellent breakfasts”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 February 2010

This one of the best B&Bs I've ever stayed in, for which all the credit should go to Sandra and Mike, the owners. We were given a very friendly welcome as soon as we arrived, and throughout our stay they were always keen to ensure that we had everything we needed. They were happy to chat as well as offering great advice on good places to walk, routes to take, and where to eat. The 'Golden Eggcup' award is well deserved; the breakfasts are truly fantastic!
We were in a very clean, comfortable and warm room, with a nice ensuite. The conservatory is also a great place to sit, with good views of the hills.
Hathersage itself is a good base, with a wide range of restaurants and pubs for dinner in the evening, places for tea, and several outdoor gear shops. It's also near some lovely parts of the Peak District.
I'd definitely stay here again!
