“Best Chill Out in the Area”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 February 2012

Every time you feel like refreshing your mind and go somewhere local go for Bagshaw Hall, what an amazing experience. We stayed at the penthouse, the views from the room were breath taking and penthouse itself was amazing. On the way to Bakewell we visited supermarket so we could fully supply our fridge at the suite and make or reheat our own food in case as the owen its also at the room. there is quite good chippy nearby , who also do a delivery to the hall. Service at the Hall its great very nice and helpful, and we could actually pick our room at the arrival after checking all of them. Views in the area are amazing, Bagshaw Hall recommended us to see Monsal Head where we spend rest of the evening having a long walk along the hill. I guarantee that after taking a bath overlooking such a amazing views you will feel so refreshed and positive. The interior design in the B. Hall its really great! Additionally downstairs there is a huge lounge to chill by the chimney in the evening. There is off road car park right outside the B. Hall.

“Wonderful stay!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 February 2012

We originally booked into the Garden Room, a lovely room with its own entrance/exit from the building. However my partner is 6 ft 5 - the door to the room was 4-5 ft tall, the shower was also very short. However, the staff were brilliant, they changed us to the Chatsworth Penthouse suit without any problems, after showing us a few rooms to choose from. We did have to pay the difference - but they still gave us the booking.com discount.

Overall it was a wonderful stay, friendly very helpful staff. Very clean rooms, and the views from the upper floors were just amazing! I'd recommend it to anyone, and will certainly be going back again. Just be careful if you've given the garden room, its a lovely room, just very low doorways and beams!

Perfectly located, not even a five minute walk to the village centre, and 20 minutes drive form Sheffield, Matlock and Buxton.

Thank you to all the staff for a wonderful stay!

Room Tip: If you're tall, give the garden room a miss.

“If you like historic buildings, you'll love Bagshaw Hall!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 January 2012

Stayed in the Volare room in Bagshaw Hall on a Saturday & Sunday night in January when the place was almost empty. Its a gorgeous old building with all the quirks of its period, creaky stairs, sloping doors, original (draughty!) mullioned windows but its evident that care and thought has been taken to fit out the room and bathroom comfortably and sympathetically. It's an ideal place for couples to escape to for some peace and quiet. Being self catering there are no in -house services available, so you will need to venture out for meals but Bakewell is fairly well supplied with eateries. Rooms here are quite expensive but the website has some offers and the Sleep Lodge opposite has more accessible prices.

Room Tip: Rooms above ground floor are bright and airy

“Fascinating hotel with friendly, informal atmosphere. Small and different!”

Similar to another reviewer, we stayed our first night here after our wedding, arrived late but had previously arranged to leave luggage and car etc (beware limited parking!)
Enjoyed really nice 2-level boutique room with delightful facilities - it would be very easy and enjoyable to stay here for longer on a self catering or eating-oy basis.
would definately stay again.

“Really nice place and people”

I stayed here for our first anniversary and it was lovely. Clean and roomy we were in the new building not the actual house.
Breakfast was served in the room and it was fresh. Plenty for 2.
The only down side was the television reception was very poor. Probably because of where we were!
Bakewell is a lovely town and this B&B was ideally located.
The Managers were extremely friendly and let us check in early.
Would def go back.

Room Tip: Maybe ask to be in the main house where there are baths in the bedrooms, I think that will be at cos...
