This place was absolutely adorable. Christine is a great, she was friendly, helpful, but never intruding. She is also a great cook, breakfasts are plentiful and delicious. We ate so much at breakfast we didn't have to eat again until well into late afternooon. There are lots of brochures in the dining rooom regarding the area. You can plan your day while waiting for breakfast. Because the weather was so unseasonably warm when we arrived we were served tea in the back yard (or should I be saying back garden?) and we were even able to eat our take away dinner out there in the evening.
The beds are comfy, the rooms are big enough (if you have more then one large suitcase it may feel a bit cramped) and while we weren't lucky enough to get the bathroom with the tub, ours was still nice and clean. There is free wifi (look in one of the drawers for the instruction card, when we questioned Christine about she let it be known that she has no idea when it comes to computers), and there are snacks and tea in your room. The view from the room looks right out into the field across the street where there are sheep and cows sometimes wandering about.
The town is a very short walk away, which is a godsend when you are suffering jet lag and you're slowly nodding off while doing a quiz down at the pub.
When we left she gave us scones with butter because we had missed tea the day before and a satchel of lavendar for me.
I'm so glad we ended up at Castle Hill Farm House. It was my first time in the Peak District and if I ever go back I'll want to stay here. Even my boyfriend who's been in the Peak District countless times agree.
